Sherrone Moore has been the ultimate architect of a broken offense at the trail of a lackluster season end for the Michigan Wolverines. He is putting in every bit of effort to dodge the offensive woes that cost them a playoff appearance in 2024. Offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and the nation’s top QB recruit Bryce Underwood stand as two of the most powerful corrective laxatives at this moment. The 17-year-old kid officially enrolled in classes this week and stepped into the field for the first time. How did Davis Warren feel about it?
Underwood brings a lot of promise to Ann Arbor. His outstanding stat and colossal talent seem worth a whopping 10.5 million. However, with his expanded stardom and huge influence, there comes a risk for Moore to diminish with the rest of the Michigan squad intentionally or hypothetically. It would especially be tricky for Davis Warren, who will have to play under the shadow of the former LSU commit if everything goes right.
‘‘Bryce, you know, he’s, you know, started to get rolling here with us, and man, he’s a great kid, first and foremost, loves football. You can tell he’s a competitor, humble, wants to get better and I think that’s a bit of a beautiful thing, you know,” the starting QB of the blue-yellow squad noted when asked about his feeling on his newest peer in an insider interview.

Moore successfully fosters an air of team spirit in his boys. Warren’s take on the new fellow QB carries nothing but a flat testament to it. Warren didn’t get to do a lot for his team from the starting position. But he would love it if Bryce did that and helped the team dodge past errors. Their common single purpose is to help the team out.
”He’s got a lot to learn, just like any freshman would. But he’s been great. Today was really his first day the (freshmen are) rolling with us. And, yeah, he wants to help this team win games, just like I do, just like everyone in this building wants to. That’s the way Coach Moore built it,” Warren noted, hinting at Underwood’s slow and steady blooming in the team.
The high-voltage QB commit won’t suit up for the ReliaQuest Bowl against Alabama, but he will soon set to be Michigan’s biggest weapon against the rivals. The probable timeline for him to start contributing to the Wolverines would be August 2025. But what he is doing in practice is shouting out loud why he’s graded as the nation’s top QB recruit. Warren seems to be in awe of what he has just seen. He appreciates the ‘super talented kid’s grave attention to detail and the relentless urge to learn the most.
Coming to the portal, should Moore be worried about his ultimate ace in the hole, Davis Warren? Well, the nasty trend says yes, but the QB phenom asks the fans to chill.

Sheroone Moore played a 10 million trick on Brian Kelly and had to pay it back shortly after. They say: do everything you want, but don’t get bothered when it comes back to you in whatever form and shape. Moore had been pretty adamant about flipping Underwood at any cost. Of course, he had his reasons. But it spawned a deep loss in the Tigers’ QB depth. Eye for the eye! Moore had to undergo the same shortly afterwards when two of his three power QBs, Jayden Denegal and Alex Orji, left for the portal.
In the current era of volatility, where money can switch any reality at any given time, Moore has reasons to be skeptical about Davis Warren. Especially considering his secondary role after Underwood’s arrival, which made it a little tricky for the 22-year-old.
But to the coaches’ and fans’ relief, Warren isn’t thinking about a jump right at the moment, at least. Davis revealed that he had a candid talk with coach Moore, and he made it clear that the coach wanted him to be a Wolverine. There was no cover and coat on this. New OC Chip Lindsey also conveyed the philosophy, and everything looks fine going forward. He is committed to continue doing the best for the team.
