The Colorado Buffaloes might be going through a riot of emotions. You know that feeling when mother birds let their lil ones leave their nest to learn to fly? That’s the exact feeling. The Buffs will have to let go of their favorites, Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Shilo Sanders. Now, another one gets added to the list. That’s none other than the Buffs 22-year-old WR LaJohntay Wester. Well, we can predict how Shedeur and Travis’ bond would break as they are unlikely to land in the same program. In that case, chances reign supreme for the Buffs QB to land with Wester.

Good news for the Buffs fam! Their WR Wester became the first Colorado player to formally announce an invite to the 2025 NFL scouting combine. He revealed the big news on X on January 27. He wrote, “Been working and praying 🙏🏽💯it’s always on God timing never on yours…#TheOne.” It will be held in Indianapolis from Feb. 27 to March 5. Now this is the biggest platform for Wester to put his talent on display in front of the NFL scouts. So, the question looms: will the universe plan a Shedeur-Wester reunion in the NFL? On the DNVR Buffs podcast, analyst Scott Procter gave a rundown of the situation.

Looks like the New York Giants might be the lucky ones. The analyst started with, “The Giants are going to drive Shedeur Sanders, and if they do that, they got to recite arguably the best quarterback-receiver duo in college football back in the NFL.” Meanwhile, Giants WR Wan’Dale Robinson will become a free agent in 2026. There is another quarterback, also who was reportedly spotted with Shedeur on New York Streets. That’s none other than Malik Nabers. However, in case the Giants land Wester, they will have different kinds of plays.

As the host stated, “Nabers is kind of that outside kind of alpha x receiver threat, and obviously LaJohntay living in on the middle of the field from slot those whip routes, using leverage.” In that case, Giants is going to be a great fit for the Buffs WR. That’s when the host came up with a disclaimer. New York will be good for Wester not only because he will have an old mate Shedeur around, he stated, “He’d be with a good play caller and Brian Daboll. Well, we don’t know what the future holds for the WR, but his HC is already proud of him.

Will the NFL see the dynamic Shedeur-Wester duo, or is it just a pipe dream?

Have an interesting take?

Deion Sanders is always the first person to share his players’ success. So, right after he came to know about Wester’s invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine, Coach Prime could no longer contain his excitement. After all, he has seen the Buffs’ 20th transfer work his way up and climb the ladder. The WR’s 2024 stats speak on his behalf. He came up with 74 receptions, 931 yards, 10 touchdowns, and an average of 12.6 yards per catch.

So, Deion re-shared Wester’s tweet on IG where the invitation read, “Congratulations on being invited to participate in the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine! The Combine is an opportunity for you to show off your skills while interacting with NFL team personnel as they evaluate you in advance of the 2025 NFL Draft.” To which Coach Prime added a simple yet impactful reaction, “God is incredible!”

LaJohntay Wester came off as an indomitable force at practice in the lead-up to the upcoming East-West Shrine Bowl. The West Division WR’s stunning sideline catch is already going viral. So, now you know why NFL teams must land Wester if they land Shedeur. After all, he is the Buffs QB’s “biggest weapon.”

Is the WR too desperate to be in the same boat with Shedeur? Well, looks like he has surrendered to the universe. “We definitely been having those conversations with us playing at the next level in the league too as well. But it’s out of our hands, you know? I’ve done my part and now it’s up to God and these scouts, man.” So, with a little luck, the Buffs could see their star duo dominate once more.
