Despite a stronger O-line, will Shedeur Sanders' injury troubles continue to haunt him?

Oh no! Shedeur Sanders is down! Just as the Buffs were sparking hope to the crowd present to support, their hopes came crashing down. But there’s a darker tinge to this situation. Did Shedeur really suffer a cramp or did he just fake it for his team’s convenience?

The offseason has been a huge preparation to evade injuries that could be inflicted on Shedeur Sanders. But did the O-line fail after their promise to protect their signal caller? Or are they putting more heat out of the situation than it really is? The spectators are dumbfounded and disappointed as Shedeur gets accused of faking an injury.

A new X post on August 29 revealed that “Shedeur Sanders is down with a left leg injury after the Buffs turn it over on downs. Looks like a cramp.” It was in the second quarter when Colorado made a failed fourth down conversion. They turned the ball over on downs near their 35-yard line. By then, NDSU’s offense was already ready for the play while Colorado’s defense trailed to the field.

The move called for a timeout, but is it really a cramp? Could it be a fake call for a timeout? That’s what some people are questioning. What viewers accused of Shedeur is that he faked a cramp so that the Bisons won’t be able to run a play against the Buffs’ scattered defense. A fan even commented, “Shedeur looked back and saw no defense out there, then faked a cramp. How pathetic.” Still, the O-line is also another topic that needs to be questioned.

The O-line vowed to protect Shedeur Sanders but it looks like they’re eating their words by allowing the latest actions to happen on the field. After all, everything that Deion Sanders put in the offseason by revamping the offensive lineup is to prioritize Shedeur’s protection if they’re to win this season. But this injury is a bad first impression.

What’s your perspective on:

Despite a stronger O-line, will Shedeur Sanders' injury troubles continue to haunt him?

Have an interesting take?

Hopefully, the Buffs’ signal caller will be able to hop back in the game without his injury hampering his performance, if it was indeed a real accident. With the second quarter coming to an end, Colorado needs to buck up as they trail 20-17 at halftime. Shedeur Sanders has recorded 254 yards and two TDs as of the first half. There’s still a good chance for a comeback in the second half. So fingers are crossed.
