With Ewers and Manning, who should lead the Longhorns to the national championship glory?

Yeah, Quinn Ewers is arguably one of the best QBs this season, but don’t let that take your eyes away from the one true freshman. The Longhorns have been on the roll this year and it looks like it will be smoothly sailing into the playoffs for them. With Quinn Ewers at the helm, nothing can go wrong. While it is true fans were a bit stressed out when Ewers got injured and was out, however, as the team hits the turf for the Red River Rivalry, Ewers is back. But someone who is back with a bigger blast is Ryan Wingo.

Max Olson took to X to share some interesting stats about Longhorns WR Ryan Wingo. “Texas true freshman WR Ryan Wingo is now averaging 28.8 yards per touch this season,” Olson mentioned in his post. Wingo is the lone tree freshman WR on the Longhorns squad and has been on point with his plays. Hailed as the No.38 overall prospect in the entire country by On3 Industry Rankings, Wingo is making Steve Sarkisian proud and is the new superstar you wanna keep an eye on.

You gotta keep in mind that this dude was surrounded by veterans when he first arrived. Isaiah Bond and Matthew Golden were already on the squad, so Wingo had to compete extra hard to make a name for himself.

And so he did. After getting put on the turf against the UTSA game, Wingo managed to cover 127 yards and haul a touchdown with 3 catches as well. “I just can’t take anything for granted,” Wingo had noted during the post-game interview after the UTSA 56-7 win. Following this, he made a massive play against Michigan.

Taking the football off of Ewers, he managed to turn it into a 55-yard gain for the Longhorns. And now, with a fumble during the iconic Red River Rivalry, it is sure that on a team of veteran stars, Wingo stands out as the lone wolf full of promise and talent. However, he ain’t the only one.

Manning fever

When Ewers was counted out during the Roadrunners disaster injury, Arch Manning was sent in to take over. Boy, oh boy, did he turn some heads. Right after hitting the turf, Manning started his reign strong with a touchdown. He wrapped up with 4 total touchdowns along with 9-12 passes completed. Rivals pointed out the perfect thing after the Roadrunners game was over.

“Even without Quinn Ewers, Texas can still win a national championship,” Rivals had noted. It still stands true. Till Ewers came back, Manning was at the helm and he DID NOT disappoint. You can call this the magic of Steve Sarkisian’s ‘go big or go broke’ roster. Longhorns fans are still divided on if they wanna see Ewers on the turf or if they want Manning back and we don’t blame them for being stuck in this dilemma.

With back-to-back solid players like Wingo and Manning, it ain’t no wonder why the Longhorns are on the direct trajectory to grab the playoff spot and probably even win the national championship title.
