Looks like Michigan Wolverines’ luck is turning for the better. Remember how helpless the Wolverines fans felt when Jim Harbaugh left? Doubts loomed as Sherrone Moore took the reins. Yes, Moore was not able to fill Harbaugh’s shoes. The 2024 season has been a season of mishaps for Michigan. But at least the man is not giving up. Moore’s target is to revamp the players’ roster. And he is already at it.

The plan is ready, and the execution is under process. Already they have their biggest weapon under control. That’s none other than the No. 1 recruit, Bryce Underwood. Waiting for Moore to get the fuel (read: the recruits) for his catalyst (read: Brycewood).

When it comes to Moore’s efforts in landing recruits, are there any doubts? Definitely not! We know how far he went to land Brycewood, snatching the QB from Brian Kelly’s LSU Tigers. However, Moore’s Brycewood plan did hit a pause. After all, the Michigan HC, amidst his race to land the no. 1 QB, lost the $915k talent, Miller Moss, who transferred to Jeff Brohm’s Louisville Cardinals.

Now that ‘Mission Protect Brycwood’ became a flop, the Wolverines HC whipped up another plan. The transfer portal gates are open now, and Moore has already dived. And it looks like he only plans to catch the wide receivers. On the Michigan Sports Talk, the analyst revealed the name of Clemson Tigers wide receiver Troy Stellato.

Well, his stats must have been enough to woo Moore. As stated on the podcast, “He did enter the portal back on December 3rd. He’s a 6’1,” 190lb wide receiver this past season with Clemson. He had 25 receptions for 264 yards and one touchdown also in the 2023 season with Clemson.” However, Stellato’s season had been plagued with injury as Dabo Swinney confirmed in November, “He tore his thumb, got to have surgery on it Thursday, so he’s going to be done.” But maybe Moore is ready to take the risk. Here comes another one.

Now that the Wolverines are set to bring in three taller wide receivers, Skyler Bell’s name has been doing the rounds. According to the reports, Ann Arbor was hosting the UConn wide receiver. Even he carries an impressive resume: “This past season with UConn had 47 receptions for 783 yards and four touchdowns is a 6-foot receiver.” Well, while we are yet to know whether the WRs will land in Ann Arbor or not, Moore has already caught a big fish.

Sherrone Moore got a Christmas gift

The December month ushered in both bad and good news for Moore’s program. As soon as the transfer portal opened, the Wolverines lost some gems. The list is pretty long and includes QB Alex Orji and WR Tyler Morris, along with a couple of others. The latest blow came with their RB, Tavierre Dunlap deciding to swap wagons.

So where is he heading next? Well, Dunlap will be traveling just seven miles down the road as he committed to Eastern Michigan in neighboring Ypsilanti. However, Dunlap’s exit won’t hurt Moore much, as in his four years on the Wolverines’ ride, his notable touchdown came in Week 13 this season on a 20-yard carry in the fourth quarter against Northwestern. But still, the HC did not take any chance.

The Michigan HC started looking to fill the RB position. And Christmas Eve turned out to be lucky for him. Alabama Crimson Tide transfer and running back Justice Haynes committed to Ann Arbor. Now that’s some lucrative recruit. After all, Haynes has created a name for himself by posting seven touchdowns and 448 yards on 79 carries. Plus, he was in a loaded running back room with Jam Miller and Richard Young, so that’s a bonus. Now, if the WRs choose Michigan, it could finally put Sherrone Moore’s mind at ease.
