And who doesn’t love a bit of tomfoolery? When former NFL CB Richard Sherman noted that Travis Hunter would be a much better CB than a WR, Hunter, naturally, lost his cool. “Stop speaking on me,” Hunter had mentioned after he heard Sherman’s comments. You can’t blame the dude for losing his cool. From what we saw Hunter pull against the Rams and the Bears, this guy has proven good at defense and offense. With the dust settled, Travis Hunter decided to throw some shade as he walked in on the turf during warmup.
“Bland“. This is what Hunter decided to get printed on a white t-shirt he wore during the warmup before the UCF game. Call it a shade or something, but it looks like it was bait for Sherman all along. “200 yard game incoming… even though it was blend,” Sherman was quick to share his thoughts on X while re-sharing Hunter’s new look. While Sherman did not mean any harm this time around, the fans had an unexpected reaction. So, naturally, the former NFL CB had to clear the air. “And for the record. I said I thought Travis would blend,” Sherman noted in a follow-up post.

Now, let us get you up to speed on what this “blend” means. As we all know, Hunter is a 2-way player. What Sherman meant was that we would get to see Hunter perform solidly as a WR and as CB once again against UCF. His size and speed metrics as a WR and his instincts and IQ as a CB would stand out. Glad to see that these two dudes have settled things have turned into friendly banter.
However, what you gotta keep your eye on is Hunter going to New York. Back in 2023, there was much left to be desired from Hunter’s skills as a WR and CB. While the Buffs had a rough 4-8 and Hunter did manage to catch some spotlight, it was against the Rams and Baylor that his skills as a CFB player shined the brightest. During the Rocky Mountain Showdown, Hunter made history with 2 TDs, 1 interception, 100 yards, and 13 catches in a single game.

And when it was against Baylor, Hunter managed to seal the deal in overtime with a game-winning fumble. However, what he managed to pull against a team like UCF could finally seal his Heisman deal. You gotta keep in mind that Deion Sanders is going up against a team that has one of the strongest run games in CFB. The Buffs have had a rough run game with their offense being average at best. So, what could be Coach Prime’s saving grace?
Gotta go back to the defense

Did Travis Hunter just outsmart Richard Sherman with that subtle shade? What's your take?
Have an interesting take?
The Knights’ RB and QB are probably the biggest threats to Deion Sanders’ empire. QB KJ Jefferson currently has one of the strongest throwing and run games in CFB and RB RJ Harvey is standing on top of the Big 12 list in terms of rushing yards (448 rushing yards).

While Robert Livingstone has done magic with the D-line, the main question that will come is if they can keep it together. Yeah, well, looks like they can. At 9:17 minute on the first quarter, CB Preston Hodge managed to snag an interception.
This could’ve been the first touchdown for UCF, but it’s DENIED. It ain’t no wonder why the Buffs’ defense currently stands on par with a team like Nebraska. Livingstone and his coaching have done something that Sean Kelly could’ve never done. And as the game goes on, let us know who you think would make it.
