Travis Hunter, the Colorado Buffaloes’ two-way star, is becoming ‘The’ talk of the internet right now. And with the NFL draft looming on the player’s heads. The talk is expected to become more and more intense. All things add up only point to Hunter being one of the hottest commodities of the NFL arena, with him being one of the top 5 draft picks. The Heisman Trophy winner certainly will have a lot to decide for now. However, his reverence and die-hard fandom for the GOAT Tom Brady may well actually break his heart going into the draft. So, what’s the hurdle in Hunter’s ever-longing childhood dream? Let’s unearth the mystery.

Well, Travis Hunter had, as always, his mind set on joining the New England Patriots. This was mainly due to his football hero, Tom Brady. Hunter, who wears a number 12 jersey for the Buffaloes, naturally be tempted to don the GOAT’s cape, which was also number 12. He also commented and showed excitement over the prospect on a podcast hosted by ‘overtime’.

Hunter, in the Podcast, said, “If I go to the Patriots? Bro, I’m not gonna wear Tom Brady’s number bro, that’s too much legacy in that jersey; I respect Brady too much“. But let’s be real, Travis wasn’t talking seriously about it, right? Because the jersey has been retired out of respect for Tom Brady by the Pats. However, now the Cleveland Browns are taking an active interest in the services of the player. Add that to their 2nd draft pick over the Patriots’ 4th, it seems like Hunter will after all not be able to join the Pats. So, how did things get so complicated for Hunter so quickly?

The interesting development came after reports in the Browns‘ circles started pointing towards a potential draft move for Hunter. This also led to former Browns wideout Josh Cribbs giving his opinion on the matter, “I think whoever quarterback is at the helm for the Browns, we can do amazing things with a guy like Travis Hunter…..He could be something like Zay Flowers is to the Ravens right now”. The Browns initially focused on a quarterback pick. After their QB Deshaun Watson suffered a long-term Achilles injury.

However, several analysts like PFF draft analyst Trevor Sikkema point towards the Browns ending up picking Hunter over a quarterback. Furthermore, according to the X page of NFL Draft rumors several personnel from the Browns camp are very keen on him joining. But why Hunter?
