Ah, the Buffs. If anyone out there is having a worse season than the Florida Gators, it would be Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes. Starting the 2024 season with a rocky win against NDSU, all hopes and dreams came crashing down when the boys went up against the Huskers. 28-10 with Shedeur Sanders getting sacked 5 times. It was a rough game. Also probably the first where we saw Travis Hunter lose his cool. The boys were on a negative rushing yards record till they hit the 3rd quarter of the game and Hunter was fuming because of Shedeur’s inability to land any plays. However, amidst all that, Hunter still has his pillar of support standing there for him.
Hunter’s soon-to-be wife, Leanna Lenne, took to her Instagram story to share her new fit picture before the Buffs hit the turf against the Rams. “Me + game day fit go together bad,” Lenne wrote in her story as she was spotted wearing a cute Colorado jersey and denim skirt. Hunter is going to need all the support he can get for this game. The Buffs and the Rams have had a long-standing rivalry. This would mark the 93rd time both teams are going up against each other. While the Rams are coming off with a win against the Bears, the Buffs are in a tough spot. The game against the Bisons showed us why Hunter is still one of the best players in CFB. That guy managed to lock in 3 touchdown passes from Shedeur during that game and led his team to a 31-26 win. However, the main issue is that the O-line and the defense still ain’t that good.

While Coach Prime has been quite proud of his “revamping”. At this point, all of it feels so fake. If all of this wasn’t enough, CU staff also refused to learn from their mistakes. Against the Huskers, we saw Colorado make some weird decisions. Tyler Brown was forced to play tackle, Kahlil Benson was put on guard and Omarion Miller was benched. The staff and Coach Prime cannot pull the same stunt again because the Rams and HC Jay Norvell are going to come for the crown.

Can Deion Sanders and the Buffs survive?

Back in 2023, the Buffs managed to defeat the Rams 43-35. So, Norvell is not going to make it easy for Deion. While the Buffs do have 3 solid players (Shedeur Sanders, Hunter, and Jimmy Horn Jr.) the offensive line is still a major concern and Norvell could easily exploit that just like the Huskers.
The good thing is, the odds do favor Buffs this time around. The Rams and their rush game are average at best. QB Brayden Fowler is amazing when it comes down to passes, but average during rushes. During the Longhorns game, we saw Fowler only managing to grab 59 yards and 1 interception under his belt. For now, Deion has the advantage. However, the Buffs have disappointed us before, so it won’t be a surprise if they do it again.
