“It’s everybody else’s business because that couple put it out there.” That’s what former NFL player Nate Burleson said, taking a shot at Travis Hunter and Leanna’s whole situation. And honestly, it’s hard to argue. Since the moment Leanna Lenee sat frozen at the Heisman ceremony, refusing to stand as Hunter claimed his trophy, trolls were coming at the couple. It threatened Hunter’s NFL dreams, even forcing him to wipe his IG clean. But just when they thought the storm had passed, here we are—back at square one.

This time, the reason behind this controversy is pure hate. The NFL draft hype is going up and down every day when it comes to the top prospects. And right now, it’s Mason Graham from Michigan who’s feeling the heat. Since arriving in Ann Arbor, people have called Mason’s skills “a gift from God.” No wonder the Wolverines DL is a two-time CFB All-American. And as a result, he is among the top 5 NFL draft picks for the 2025 season. But here is where it gets tricky as NFL draft analyst Damian Parson hit X, saying, “The latest victim of prospect fatigue…Mason Graham. Draft season is in full swing, I see lol.”

Now, that’s something that happens every year with all blue-chip players. Once entering the draft cycle, players like Mason Graham receive a high amount of praise from scouts and analysts. But then? They’re overanalyzing, nitpicking, and finding “flaws” that barely exist—just to keep the draft talk rolling. And Mason is not the only victim of this.

Replying to the same tweet, Cowboys insider Matt Owen says, “I’m ready for people to remember the Travis Hunter fiancé stuff so that we can push him down to #12 overall.”  With the Cowboys holding the 12th pick, you can see why Matt Owen might want to bring up Travis Hunter’s past relationship stuff. Maybe it’s to see if he drops a bit and becomes a possibility for Dallas. Especially since Hunter’s been linked to Jerry Jones before the season started.

you’d think the Travis Hunter and Leanna drama would be old news, but nope. Someone’s hoping for a sequel, which, let’s be real, is just messed up. They’ve already been through the wringer—old stuff popping up, crazy stories spreading, and the internet treating their lives like some reality show. Remember that Oklahoma game? The public went into a frenzy when Leanna dodged that kiss from the two-way star. Then, another video resurfaced, showing her looking awkward and impatient while Hunter interacted with his fans and spoke to cheerleaders. And let’s not forget that old, controversial music video of Lenee that sparked even more chaos.

The one shining light in all this? Their unwavering support for each other. Engaged last year, they’re set to tie the knot after the draft in May 2025. Despite facing relentless backlash from the world, they’ve remained a united front. Leanna endured a constant barrage of criticism, but Hunter stood by her side without hesitation, telling the online bullies, “Find someone else to talk about… We’re inseparable. If she’s hurting, I’m hurting.” Leanna was overwhelmed by the harsh criticism, which just goes to show the sheer cruelty of the internet. They had to take drastic measures, closing the comment section and going completely MIA on social media, before eventually returning.

Is Travis Hunter's NFL dream being unfairly overshadowed by personal drama and media frenzy?

Travis Hunter’s shaky two-way hopes

Travis Hunter’s dream of playing both ways in the NFL is hitting a serious roadblock. Look, even before the Combine, analysts were already asking him to pick a side. Playing both wide receiver and cornerback in the pros? That’s crazy rare, and a recipe for getting banged up. Now, he’s only showing off his cornerback skills at the Combine, which is just fueling those doubts. His draft stock’s definitely taking a hit, and people are wondering if he can even handle the NFL’s demands.

Hunter’s draft picks have been struggling for a while now. Initially, quarterbacks, offensive tackles, and wide receivers dominated the draft board, pushing him down the ranks. Even NFL Rookie Watch noticed his slide, with his odds of going first dropping to +500. “Travis Hunter reportedly ‘has a small chance’ of slipping out of the Top 5 picks, despite being one of the most generational prospects of recent memory. Several NFL scouts reportedly believe the top 5 could realistically be ‘composed of’ 3 QBs, Abdul Carter, and an OT/WR.” And Carter? His stock is flying with +180 odds.

It’s not just QBs stealing the spotlight. WRs such as Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan are quickly rising in the ranks, while OTs like Kelvin Banks, Will Campbell, and Josh Conerly Jr. are competing for top-five spots. As the draft board takes shape, even someone as exceptional as Hunter can feel the pressure.

Travis Hunter’s still a top prospect, but the NFL ain’t handing out participation trophies. To shut down the doubters, he should prove he’s more than just a flash in the pan—he needs to show he’s a reliable, focused player, not someone splitting his attention on both sides of the field. Thing is, the NFL draft’s not just about what you do on the field; it’s about how you carry yourself too. Hunter killed it in college, both on and off the field, but this pro journey’s hitting a few speed bumps. With those two-way skill questions already floating around, this personal life controversy isn’t helping. Now Hunter’s got to show them he’s all in.
