Travis Hunter, the widely touted prodigy, is not just a player anymore; it’s been nothing short of a phenomenon. A Travis Hunter wave that has engulfed the NFL city. No other player in recent memory can be said to be on the front; Travis Hunter is right now. A two-way star and a Heisman winner, the sky is going to be the limit for the player. And rightly so.

‘Travis Hunter will not feature in the NFL combine.” That’s the news all around the country right now. But does it even make sense for Travis Hunter to feature in the combine? Well, Travis Hunter has graduated to a level where he doesn’t need the combine to showcase his abilities. If it wasn’t for him and his talent, he wouldn’t have achieved 1,258 receiving yards and 35 tackles on defense. He wouldn’t have gotten the multimillion-dollar NIL deals. In a sense, he is a star already. Yet he has been developing and working hard like never before.

NFL just posted a video of him on their official Instagram account showing Travis Hunter running drills and working out tirelessly as he is wearing a T-shirt with the word ‘Believe. ‘ That shows the level of commitment he has to the cause, and that took away the attention of his mother, Ferrante Edmonds, who posted the video on her Instagram Story and wrote “Go Son,” to the message on the video that read “Travis Hunter is Gonna be Special in the League.” The mother-son bond is quite strong, as she regularly posts heartfelt moments with her son.

It seems Hunter’s mother is onto something here, too, with her blessing to her son, as a recent revelation has highlighted the importance of Hunter for the New England Patriots. Keyshawn Johnson, speaking in a recent host show, ‘Speak,’ highlighted why the New England Patriots should try trading their draft pick with the Titans to land Hunter.

“The Tennessee Titans elect to move out of that position and drop down to four, and the New England Patriots go up to one perfect landing spot for Travis. You got Drake Maye, an offensive weapon; you now have a corner you can play opposite (Christian) Gonzalez, who is an all-pro guy,. Yeah, you play him opposite of that, and you get a locker room changing culture.”  He then added why it would make sense for the Titans to trade their 1st pick.

Travis Hunter to the New England Patriots?

Keyshawn highlighted why the Titans would be willing to take their first pick in the NFL draft and still get their hands on a quarterback. “New England would be a perfect situation to move up to one and down to four if I’m Tennessee; take my shot, that Cleveland and the Giants are going to take them one two now, I still get them at one of the two; at four, and I get picks if I’m the Tennessee Titans, and you get the New England Patriots get exactly what they want in a playmaker in Travis Hunter cuz they don’t need a quarterback.”

What Keyshawn is saying actually makes a lot of sense. Since the Titans have the first draft pick, they could easily land a quarterback they are after, who would most probably be Shedeur Sanders at No. 4. This is because the Browns do not need a QB at the moment since they already have a lot of options on their roster. The Giants are primarily after Cam Ward, who they will get at number three, and thus, the Titans will have the 4th pick and their favorite QB, along with the added benefits of the trade. The verdict?

Well, trading the draft pick may also come with its own repercussions if the plan doesn’t pan out as expected. However, one thing is clear: the Travis Hunter and Christian Gonzalez combo will definitely be quite lethal at CB. Furthermore, there’s the added benefit of the locker room atmosphere, where Hunter’s work ethic and leadership will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the NE Patriots.
