Just like her son, Buffs dual-threat is known for his athletic talents, Hunter’s mom, Ferrante Edmonds, spreads magic with her words. 

She has been an amazing orator when it comes to sharing knowledge about God and the Almighty. This has brought love and respect to Hunter’s mom. Do you know how she has a special badge? ‘Woman of God.’ 

Time for Travis Hunter’s mom to shine bright

Well, not a good time for the Hunter fam. After all, the Buffs two-way is likely to face roadblocks and his entry into the NFL is not going to be that smooth. As per the reports, NFL suitors have found a “red flag” in Hunter. They claimed, he “lacks technique in some areas” and comes off as too athletic to blend in the NFL landscape. Along with this, his draft stocks have fallen from being a No.2 pick to a No.7 pick. But will that dampen Hunter’s spirit in any way? Not at all. After all, he is Edmond’s son, who has faith in the Almighty. Recently, she went viral for her thrilling speech that’s surely going to give goosebumps.

On February 3, Hunter’s mom shared a clip after taking the stage for the Can We Talk Sports show’s Sports Mom Conference 2025. That’s when Edmonds advised everyone to leave everything to the Almighty and just do their part. She said, “So the doors that God has for you, nobody can shut…So why are you worrying about addressing something…I don’t have time to go back. If I’m going back I am missing the blessing that have for me in the front.”

Hunter’s mom gave a reminder on how to take the reins of our life and not to put the pen in others’ pockets to write our story. “It’s never too late for you to write your story. So write your story. Don’t let other people to take the pen and write it for you. Use your words, your words have power,” encouraged Edmonds. Thankfully, her efforts to build a motivated mass did not go in vain. Hunter’s mother had shared a screenshot on February 5. 

Someone named Sonja Rose Robinson uploaded a selfie with Edmonds from the conference. The caption read, “Sports Mom Conference 2025.. as a panelist, it has been rewarding.. Supermom’s powerful message for Travis Hunter’s haters 

The 2024 season had shown Hunter the best and the worst. While the Buffs two-way star proved himself athletic and grabbed the Heisman award, his personal life has been a mess. Yes, Hunter and his fiancée Leanna Lenee have always been that lovey-dovey couple. But at the end of last year, somehow it appeared that some cracks had developed in their bond. It started with the Buffs vs. Oklahoma State game. Post the game, Lenee seemed to be upset with Hunter. 

While the Buffs two-way star tried to mend things by landing a kiss, his sweetheart refused to reciprocate. Things turned bitter during the Heisman Award evening. Hunter’s fans got upset seeing how Lenee did not bother to stand and cheer for her fiancé. The critics had their weapon ready: social media. Even though Lenee deactivated her account, the haters found their way through the comment section of Hunter’s posts. That’s when Edmonds could no longer see her son in pain.

In a conversation with BiggDogg Chico and Uncle Neely, she raised a warning for all the Travis Hunter haters. She came up with a powerful message, “I am a praying mother, don’t you listen when you could come for me all day. When you come for my kids, we got to problem.” Not to forget she is not going to take the ugly way. Rather she said, “Cause I’m not going to take it to the streets. I’mma take it to my knees and I’mma pray about it cause he said touch not my anointed ones, do my prophet no harm…. So baby, if I’m with Jesus and Jesus on my side, I’m on the winning team. You better get like me.” Now you see where Travis Hunter gets his fearless swagger and go-big-or-go-home attitude!
