When they say it’s not easy to be a college football athlete, that’s true. The biggest example is the Colorado Buffaloes’ dual-threat Travis Hunter. Even after winning the Heisman Award, Hunter could not give himself some peace. Thanks to the haters who started whipping up ugly narratives surrounding his fiancée Leanna Lenee. Hunter’s signature ear-to-ear gin went missing as the two-way star attracted so many negative vibes. Now, how could his mother, Ferrante Edmonds, be quiet seeing his son in so much pain? Already, things are hard for the young chap staying away from his father, Travis Hunter Sr.

The 2024 season has been a mixed year for Hunter. For the ones who questioned his athletic abilities, in December, he zipped up the critics’s mouths by bagging the Heisman Trophy. Even though Hunter could save himself from the online bashing, he was replaced by his ladylove. Lenee became the new target for haters when she remained seated during the Heisman Award ceremony instead of cheering for Hunter, who took to the stage. For that, even the two-way star was not spared. Seeing her kid in so much pain, Edmonds finally broke her silence.

In a conversation with BiggDogg Chico and Uncle Neely, the concerned mother just couldn’t hold back her frustration. She had a strong message for the haters, “I am a praying mother, don’t you listen when you could come for me all day. When you come for my kids, we got to problem.” That’s how Edmonds struck a ‘Don’t mess up with my son’ attitude. She is sure enough that if anyone tries to harm her kid, God is going to teach them a lesson. 

Hunter’s biggest cheerleader continued how she was not going to take any revenge but only pray. Quoting the Biblical verse, she stated, “Cause I’m not going to take it to the streets. I’mma take it to my knees and I’mma pray about it cause he said touch not my anointed ones, do my prophet no harm. So baby, you come barking up the wrong tree, but I got something for you because I fight in the spiritual realm and not in the natural. So baby, if I’m with Jesus and Jesus on my side, I’m on the winning team. You better get like me.” 

Is this going to stop the haters from spreading hate? Well, we don’t know that yet. After all, Hunter’s own efforts have gone in vain.

The rocky road of Travis Hunter and Leanna Lenee  

Hatred for Lenee has been spurring for quite some time now. Her actions at the Heisman award ceremony just triggered the haters. A clip from the Colorado Buffaloes vs Oklahoma State went viral. Even though the Buffs came off with a big 52-0 win, somehow the smile went missing from Lenee’s face.

Instead, it was evident she was upset with something or the other. As Hunter came to greet her after the game with a hug and a kiss, she refused to reciprocate. This led the fans to come up with different theories, hinting at the two hitting a rough patch in their love life.  Well, in a few days, something fueled their speculations. A clip went viral where Lenee was spotted in her ex-boyfriend’s music video. While it is believed to be an old clip, the haters got even more angry at Hunter’s sweetheart.

Not being able to handle the online bash, Leanna Lenee deactivated her account. But so what? The critics started writing bad comments in Travis Hunter’ IG post. So what the Buffs ‘ two-way star did was to turn off the commenting section. When that, too, didn’t help, he deactivated his account. Later, he claimed that he had to take that step because his account had been hacked. However, looks like Travis Hunter no longer fears making a public appearance with Leanna Lenee as he was spotted with his sweetheart at the Sports Illustrated award show on January 6.
