The confetti’s settled, Ohio State’s champs, but the CFB offseason is already in full swing. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there—vets are chasing that NFL dream, while freshmen are balling out and coaches are scheming. Recruiting wars are heating up, rosters are getting shuffled, and the drama never stops. And guess who just jumped into the fray? We’ve got two standout QBs, Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, throwing their hats into the ring, fighting tooth and nail for their NFL desires!

Now, let’s dive into their pro-league aspirations. Both of them made one thing clear: after Heisman winner Travis Hunter, these two hungry quarterbacks, Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, are fighting for the top spot. And that shared ambition unexpectedly brings them together. In a recent practice session caught by Well Off Media, Shedeur and Cam practice side by side, chatting openly about their draft goals. Well, these two are ganging up for that No. 1 spot!

During their recent practice session at SMU, Shedeur Sanders opened up about the pressure of being labeled a ‘generational talent.’ He noted, “You don’t know what that pressure is like.” He is clearly feeling the weight of expectations. But Cam Ward wasn’t about to let him dwell on it as he thinks he is the one with generational talent. “They say I’m generational talent. I’m going to prove them right.” For Shedeur, the fight is much more intense knowing Deion Sanders’s ties with the pro league, but Ward is also not letting the spotlight go away from him.

However, Shedeur couldn’t just let it slide, though. “Actually, nah, an article came out today. I’m generational, so I guess it’s article vs. article,” he quipped, throwing a little sarcasm into the mix. But Ward wasn’t having it, though. “I like that you think that, man, but we all know the truth,” he shot back, challenging the idea. And Shedeur’s response?

What’s your perspective on:

Is the 'generational talent' label a blessing or a curse for young stars like Shedeur Sanders?

Have an interesting take?

Pretty classic as he takes a subtle jab at the whole debate, saying, “What? Is Trav going to be first?” It’s evident that these two are hungry to be the no. 1 pick. Well, these guys are known for their quirky bond. Remember when Shedeur Sanders wished Cam Ward on his birthday, calling him a “fool.” This past season, the pair practiced extensively together, making multiple appearances at a Houston quarterback academy. And now they are on a run to start their NFL journey together.

Moreover, Shedeur Sanders is not wrong when he said that Travis Hunter might be the first pick. Well, for now at least, he is above both of them in Luke Easterling’s NFL mock draft prediction. Travis holds the second position, heading to the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, there is no doubt that Ward is really making a strong case for himself. In fact, this whole ‘generational talent’ debate might even be tilting in Cam Ward’s favor.

Does Cam Ward have an edge over Shedeur Sanders?

The debate over who will emerge as the top quarterback prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft is intensifying between Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. According to Mel Kiper Jr., although this quarterback class may lack depth, both players are standout candidates for first-round picks.

Well, for Kiper, Ward led the nation with an impressive 39 touchdown passes, while Sanders closely followed with 37. Ward’s remarkable statistics include 4,313 passing yards and a mere 7 interceptions, while Sanders posted 4,134 passing yards and 10 interceptions. There’s no doubt that these two quarterbacks have consistently demonstrated their ability to lead their teams and deliver significant plays, making them highly sought-after prospects for the next level.

Just like Kiper, even ESPN analyst Jake Trotter also believes that the Hurricanes’ star QB could get picked before the Buffs star, saying, “My educated guess is that the Browns prefer Cam Ward to Shedeur Sanders.” Plus, it’s still hard to say if Shedeur wants to be part of the Titans or not!

However, with the East-West Shrine Bowl on the horizon, Ward and Sanders have opportunities to further boost their draft stock. A standout performance in this game could solidify their positions and leave NFL scouts eagerly anticipating who will ultimately claim the title of the top quarterback prospect for the 2025 draft. Let’s see who emerges as the King of the Hill and lands that coveted first-round draft slot.
