And he does it all. If there’s one thing that has kept Deion Sanders and the Buffs on the constant hype train, then it’s Travis Hunter. This guy is out of a storybook or something. Probably the only 5-star player in the country who has lived up to and exceeded the hype. The Buffs are on a 3-1 season start and much of the credit has to go to Travis Hunter. During the Rocky Mountain Showdown or the Baylor game, Hunter did things, that not many WRs are capable of executing. All the big plays led to a massive push to his Heisman odds. Standing at +3500 on the ladder, there’s a big chance he might just get the ticket.
However, there is one catch. Back on the Rich Eisen Show, Rich Eisen points out one factor that will be key in deciding if Hunter makes it to the Heisman. “It shouldn’t matter what the record is for him to at least get a ticket to New York. If he is healthy, we will see him in New York,” Eisen mentioned. However, this does put a dent in Shedeur Sanders‘ plan of reaching the Heisman. Standing at a +6600 odds, Shedeur is outside the top 20 list and it is going to take a while for him to climb back up.

Trying not to be a broken record, but, yes, Hunter is a phenom. His forced fumble against Baylor got the Buffs the game win during overtime. This guy even managed to create history with his stats during the Rams game. If that wasn’t enough. The defensive interception he played when returned the football up by 38 yards after intercepting a pass from Rams QB was magical. However, as Eisen pointed out, this guy still needs to stay in shape.
One missed play and one injury and Hunter is out of the Heisman run. Stats are important, but he won’t be able to rack up any if he has to sit out most of the games after a serious injury. In every game, we have seen Hunter push himself to his limits. Especially during the final moments. This could backfire at any time, so Deion Sanders has to make sure that Hunter gets the rest he deserves.

Another thing to point out would be the fact that people should cut Shedeur Sanders some slack. Yes, this dude might not be the best, but you cannot sit there and argue that he didn’t play a major role during Buffs vs Baylor. It was because of Shedeur’s 43-yard Hail Mary pass that the Buffs managed to cut it to overtime. Shedeur and LaJohntay Wester allowed the team to tie it to 31-31. Now we gotta wait and watch what the boys manage to pull off against UCF. More so because Coach Prime is getting his secret weapon back.

Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders, and one more guy will change the game
The UCF Knights are a monster when it comes down to their run game. On the Big 12 list, the Knights stand at No.1 when it comes to rushing and stopping a run. Their talented RB RJ Harvey and 2-way QB KJ Jefferson are not people you wanna take lightly.

While we do know that Hunter would play a massive role in this game, Deion Sanders has someone else who would be the perfect counter to the Knights. “Block bully” Chidozie Nwankwo was out of the Rams and the Baylor game because of an injury he sustained while playing against the Huskers.
The latest injury report has revealed that Nwankwo is likely to be present and this could turn the tide for Coach Prime. Nwankwo is solid when it comes down to stopping runs and he could easily put enough pressure on the Knights RB or QB. However, only time will tell how everything turns out in the end.
