Home/College Football

All that blood, sweat, and tears paid off for Travis Hunter—he’s officially a Heisman winner. For the Buffs’ star two-way player, it’s more than a trophy; it’s proof that dreams really do come true. Think of Hunter as the Iron Man of college football—facing challenges head-on, rising above injuries, and shutting down haters with every move. From doubters who called his Heisman aspirations unrealistic to critics questioning his NFL draft potential, this win is the ultimate mic drop. With his fiancée by his side, Hunter weathered the storms, showing the world he’s built different. The Heisman isn’t just his victory—it’s a statement.

And speaking of statements, Hunter’s fiancée wasn’t holding back either. After an emotional Heisman night, she delivered a knockout message that left critics reeling. Her words were bold, fearless, and a reminder to everyone who doubted Hunter that they were dead wrong. Together, they’re the ultimate power couple, defying odds and rewriting the narrative.

When it comes to Travis Hunter, his fiancée, Leanna Lennee, would never let go of a single person coming towards his way of success, as she gives an appropriate response to the critics who thought Travis Hunter would make it. She took it to her IG story with a bold caption that says, “They mad? Make them madder!” Well, almost everyone in the CFB world has been debating Travis or Ashton since the Heisman talks started. It’s been a close race all season long. But in the end, Hunter took home the bronze. He absolutely dominated the voting, racking up a total of 2321 points, while Jeanty came in strong with 2017. And now, the trolls are silent, the critics stunned, and Travis Hunter is exactly where he belongs—at the top.

Lenee’s been Hunter’s biggest cheerleader all season long. Even when everyone doubted a two-way player could win the Heisman, she was rocking that ‘HE12MAN’ gear and posting hype videos on Instagram. She’s been predicting this win for months! And now, she’s celebrating her man’s biggest achievement with a special Instagram post with the caption, “Winner winner chicken dinner.” But both of them made sure that this also becomes a way to call out their haters, as Hunter commented on the post saying, “What they gonna say now?” To which Leanna replied with a no comments emoji 🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊.

Can’t blame Leanne for doing this. Travis Hunter’s success is worth all the hype. Hunter is the first non-quarterback player to win the Heisman since Alabama’s wide receiver DeVonte Smith won the title in 2020. Now, if that doesn’t count for an appreciation, then what will? And knowing the fact that it was not a simple task, makes Hunter’s win even more special.

Travis Hunter’s historic season meets a happy end

Travis Hunter did create history for the Buffs. Who would have thought that a team that was struggling to even keep up their game would be a bowl-eligible team producing exceptional players like Shedeur Sanders and now the Heisman winner Hunter, who would take the world through a roll? It was undeniably an emotional night, filled with happy tears and excitement over the accomplishment.

Have an interesting take?

Just before receiving the Heisman, Hunter thanked his father for all the sacrifices he made for him. Leaving his dream to play college football, he stayed with his family to make sure they didn’t miss out on anything. Even though Hunter Sr. couldn’t make it to New York, Travis made sure to talk about him, saying, “The time you came to see my games, from not saying probably two games in high school to see me on TV every weekend and come to see me, man, that means so much to me. I know you wanted to be here. You can’t trust me. I got you.” He assured him that he was bringing home the trophy, and that’s exactly what he did.

Moreover, what caught everyone’s attention was Travis Hunter’s mother, Ferrante Edmonds, who also refers to Hunter as “Mini-Deion, who lit up the whole ceremony with her loving words towards Hunter, saying, “I love the person that he is, but I’m also grateful that what they said was my biggest mistake turned out to be the biggest  blessing.” People were taking shots at his mother for having him early, but now with the kind of achievement he holds, no one can ever live up to the success he is already enjoying.
