Is Travis Hunter's Heisman dream shattered, or can he defy the odds with a comeback?

Travis Hunter’s Heisman fate has been tottering since the incredible two-way Colorado star left the gridiron with an acute shoulder injury during the frustrating game against K-State. One bye week, one injury miss out, and the constant uncertainty over future availability has shaken off the young prodigy’s drive to clinch the coveted trophy. While even a few weeks back, one would just laugh off at the idea of Hunter trailing behind the highly hyped-up race has now become a reality. In between, Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty rose to the top as the latest Heisman sensation.

The tragic shift in the paradigm was too much to take for Coach Prime’s best boy, pushing him to even react out of his character in some cocky debates. But believe us when we say things are slowly but surely falling back to the place for the kid. Because it’s not just us, Travis’ long-time beau, Leanna Lenee, found strong community support to substantiate.

The buzz is changing. People started to believe in the evolved narrative about Hunter’s bounce back both in the season and the Heisman race. Sounds like a blue-sky thought? Well, Hunter’s girlfriend, Leanna Lenee, posted a story on her IG where she put a picture of a board in their neighborhood where Hunter is cited as No.1 in the Heisman candidacy. If you still have doubts about the collective’s knack, Hunter’s top spot (with 37 per cent of votes) in ESPN’s voting site might add to your clarity.

The shift was tough but inevitable. When the entire nation started to give up on him, Hunter pushed his buttons instead of voicing some hollow groan over destiny. He suited up against the Arizona Wildcats, and it was certainly the bravest thing he could do. But again, that abysmal destiny played its part. Colorado staged a rocking 31-7 comeback in one of their best all-around games of the season, but Travis Hunter couldn’t be the man in the pivot as he always used to be for the Buffs.

Deion Sanders made a wise call to take him out as a precaution. But he said afterwards that the phenom is healing well and will hopefully get on his usual beast mode against Cincinnati. The state, just like this, keeps on changing from thick and thin for a world-class star, but a good life partner keeps him on track like no other.

On the flip side, the other half also doesn’t forget to pay gratitude to the almighty who led him to his ever-supporting girlfriend. ‘You are the best girlfriend in the world and I’ll paint the sky red by any means., he reciprocated the love in another public display of affection post.
