Is teaming up with a former critic a game-changer for Travis Hunter's Heisman campaign?

His play style is too “bland” huh? Well, not anymore. The Buffs have managed to pull something against UCF, which no CFB fan would’ve thought. Standing at the 4th quarter with 48-21 on the scoreboard, the boys have been on point this time around and someone who has been shining because of his plays is Travis Hunter. Whenever Hunter is on the turf, it is a spectacle. He managed to do the same against the Rams and the Baylor. However, the best part of Travis Hunter’s performance against the Knights is the fact that he is turning his haters into his supporters.

Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman had called out Hunter’s playstyle as bland and had also remarked that Hunter should just stick to the CB role. Well, the same person has now retracted everything and took to X to declare, “If the Heisman is going to the best player in college football they are going to have a tough time not giving it to @TravisHunterJr.” Travis Hunter managed to land an amazing interception off of the Knights QB’s pass and ran it up. This was a repeat telecast of what he managed to pull against the Rams QB.

And in the celebration of Hunter striking his Heisman pose after his 23-yard touchdown, Travis Hunter’s fiancee Leanna Lenee also joins Sherman in calling the young WR/CB the next Heisman winner. On her Instagram story, Lenee wrote, “Heisman Himmmm,” while sharing a clip of Hunter’s celebration. This guy has it all at this point. He has the skill to be the next big WR in the NFL. He also has the skill to be the next big CB. And with all that, it ain’t no wonder why the entire hype is around “HE12MAN”.

While his game-winning fumble against Baylor was a big deal, no one could’ve imagined that this guy would single-handedly destroy UCF’s run game and defense. Grabbing 9 catches along with 98 yards and 1 touchdown, Hunter was pure magic. With the Rams, Baylor, and now the Knights games combined, Hunter is officially the Heisman favorite and is right now the leading receiver in the entire Big 12 and also the top CB in the entire nation.

However, it ain’t only Hunter who showed potential and promise during this game. Deion Sanders’ defensive line was something Buffs fans would be proud of. Not only that, Will Sheppard and Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig also had their time to shine.

This is the Buffs everyone has been waiting for

Have an interesting take?

Imagine going up against the strongest run game team and only letting them rush for 182 yards. The defensive line collapsed on the Knights’ QB so fast and so many times that the Knights were left in shambles. With 48-21 on the scoreboard, you gotta credit a lot of it to Robert Livingston and what he has managed to get done with the team’s defenses.

It ain’t no wonder why the Buffs’ defense can now compete with top defensive players like Nebraska. However, you also gotta give Sheppard and Craig some points as well. Back in the 1st quarter, Sheppard managed to catch a 47-yard pass from Shedeur and turn it into a touchdown. This guy has finally managed to redeem himself after his miss during the Baylor game.

And for Craig? Well, this dude also managed to pull a Hunter on the turf. Turned a fumble return to a 95-yard touchdown run. It finally feels like the team is playing on the same level as Sheduer Sanders and Travis Hunter. The entire chemistry was mind-blowing and we are sure the Buffs fans cannot wait to watch what else Deion Sanders and his boys manage to pull off.
