Travis Hunter's antics: harmless fun or a distraction from the Buffs' playoff dreams?

Okay, Travis Hunter is a mad lad. This guy is almost pulling some shady shenanigans. A few days back, we spotted Travis Hunter “stealing” Deion Sanders‘ car and bragging about it on his Instagram story. If that wasn’t enough, this dude snuck into Coach Prime’s office and managed to steal a pair of shoes that was gifted to Deion by NBA superstar Ja’ Morant. Pulling these against the HC is still understandable, as Deion Sanders is still one of the most friendly coaches out there. However, it looks like Travis Hunter is stepping up his game. As the Buffs get ready to face off against Texas Tech, Hunter decides to mess around with the ref.

Back on X, We Coming 🦬 shared a clip of Hunter messing around with the referee during the pregame. The dude caught a pass and handed the ball to the ref. Innocent enough, right? The moment the ref reached out for it, Hunter snatched it right back. If the ref retaliates with some unwarranted penalties, then Hunter cannot cry wolf. But this is good. He is letting some steam off before he GOES OFF against Texas Tech. See, this game is important. Why? Deion Sanders and Co. are standing on 6-2 right now. The Bowl game is secured, and now the playoff is the dream. A win against the Red Raiders will put the boys one step closer to that dream.

Coach Prime has high expectations from Hunter and Co. Back during a practice session, Deion made it clear; “What I’m seeing right now is a playoff team.” It is quite true. You can argue that the Buffs’ o-line still needs improvement, but you also have to admit that their run game and defense have been one of the best this year.

With Robert Livingstone handling the defensive line, the Buffs have barely allowed anyone to go past the 30-point mark. Even against the Huskers, a game where Matt Rhule managed to run wild over the Buffs, the D-line still stopped Nebraska at 28 points. And well, we haven’t even talked about Shedeur Sanders.

The Kansas State game is the perfect example of Shedeur being the core playmaker for Coach Prime. The entire WR room was out with injuries and issues and Shedeur Sanders still managed to bring in 3 touchdowns. Buffs managed to stay 28-31 in a game where they didn’t even have Travis Hunter. That says a lot. Now, what’s left is getting a win against the Red Raiders.

The Buffs are one step closer to the playoff dream

Texas Tech is on the board with a 6-3 run. Their 3 losses have come from Baylor, TCU, and Washington St. Coach Prime has already faced off against Baylor, and with Shedeur’s Hail Mary and Hunter’s game-ending fumble, the Buffs won that showdown in overtime.

However, going into this game, you gotta keep in mind that Deion is going to lose out on some key players. Micah Welch, Shane Cokes, and Jaylen Wester are counted out because of their injuries and this could pose some trouble for the Buffs’ offense and defense.

We do have the WR depth back in place, so Hunter can turn things around. If Deion Sanders wins this, he will be one step closer to his playoff dream. Few minutes left for the kickoff, and we cannot wait to see what the final outcome will be.
