The best thing Deion Sanders has ever done is bring in Travis Hunter on the team. This guy is sort of an anomaly in the world of CFB. When he has the football in his hands, there’s nothing on the gridiron that can stop him. Call him the Luke Skywalker cause this guy is gonna take the Buffs sky high. We have seen nothing but exceptional performance from Travis Hunter during the NDSU game and the Rocky Mountain Showdown. However, the Huskers game was a different story. The lack of connection and focus was quite visible, and Hunter being frustrated during that game was understandable.

However, against the Rams, Deion Sanders managed to turn things around and bring out the best in Travis Hunter. All Coach Prime had to do was give Hunter a little advice. We Coming took to X on September 20th to share what Travis Hunter had to say about Deion Sanders and his advice. “He told me that I need to work on my technique,” Hunter mentioned in the video. And this worked out beautifully. The moment Coach Prime gave this advice and Hunter put in the work, he managed to catch an interception. Not only that, against the Rams, Hunter managed to create history.

With 100 yards, 13 catches, 2 touchdowns, and 1 defensive interception, Hunter managed to get something done which was last seen almost 26 years back. However, the most beautiful play was the interception return. This guy jumped and caught the pass from Rams QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi and then followed to return that 38 yards. If this ain’t art, then we don’t know what is.

This was probably Hunter’s way of clapping back Brayden because the QB had called Travis “too small”. However, the good thing is that Deion’s advice worked out. While we do wish that we could’ve seen the same happening during the Huskers disaster, you can’t really blame Hunter for not being able to focus. That rivalry defeat was needed to make Coach Prime realize that he was too confident in his O-line.

Regardless, let bygones be bygones. Buffs fans can now relax knowing the team is kind of back on track. But, what the fans do need to focus on and be happy about is Hunter becoming a 2-way star in his NFL career as well.

Travis Hunter will make it big

Hunter as a WR or a CB. This is an argument that has come up multiple times before. Analysts have noted that going into the NFL, Hunter probably has to stick to a single role. NFL Analyst Daniel Jeremiah pointed out that Hunter still needs a lot of work as a CB and should stick to being a WR because this guy manages to make miracles when he has the football in his hands. However, things are changing.

We got Mel Kiper Jr.’s perspective this time around and he believes Hunter could easily become a 2-way star in the NFL as well. “I do think early on in the NFL, he will play both ways,” Kiper mentioned on ESPN’s First Draft. This change in view comes after the Rams game, where Hunter proved he is more than capable of playing both roles. While we do think that later on during his career, Hunter has to settle down into a single role because of the physical demand, we also know that this guy is going to rock it during his early years in the NFL.

However, folks, as wait for Hunter to rock it in the NFL, why don’t you tune in for the latest episode of EssentiallySports Think Tank? We promise you won’t regret it.
