The 2024 season is just about to start and Buffs fans know the weight that’s on Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders’s shoulders. You don’t get casually labeled as the best player in college football without any solid reason. Hunter proved his worth back during the 2023 season opener with 11 solid catches. Daniel Jeremiah had noted in his scouting report of Hunter that after that specific start, “a star was born”. However, while he preps to make a blast this year, Well Off Media also managed to capture him doing some scandalous activities with Deion Sanders Jr. and Coach Prime.

Well Off Media posted a short on YouTube on August 22nd where we find Hunter sporting a new white cap. “I stole this from your dad, bro, what that means?” Hunter says as he gleefully stands in front of the camera wearing a white cap that looks way too big for his head. Hunter’s joke was directed to Deion Sanders Jr. who was filming the entire thing. “It means I’m telling him,” Deion Jr. replies with a threat to snitch on Hunter. However, the young WR had a different comeback. “That means I’m the favorite, huh? That’s crazy,” Hunter retorted mockingly. This ain’t even the first time Deion Jr. and Hunter have engaged in a weird fight like this. In the past, we also witnessed another video from Well Off Media where Deion Jr. expressed surprise upon seeing Hunter relaxing at Coach Prime’s house. “Why you here?” Deion Jr. had asked, laughing. However, Hunter is one of Coach Prime’s favorites. We think Deion Jr. still takes the cake if there’s a comparison. We got a glimpse of how much Coach Prime cares about Bucky (Deion Jr.) back on August 17th. Bucky took to Instagram to post a series of pictures of a few quotes and his father and brother, Shedeur Sanders.

He had a clear message in his post. “There’s a time where I’m a son/brother, then there’s a time where I’m the camera guy,” Bucky had written. He wanted to make it clear that one should never mix their role in their job with their role in their family. Everyone has a role in their life and one should also never envy someone else because of their role. Deion took to the comment section to write, “That’s my SON”. Honestly? Bucky does not get enough credit for what he has done for his father and the Buffs. The entire “Coach Prime” persona you see is because of Bucky’s social media mastery. Not only that, he has continuously kept fans engaged with the team through multiple vlogs. And if that wasn’t enough, Bucky always had enough courage to speak up against CU as well.

Back on July 9th, we saw Deion Jr. having a major rant session on his Instagram stories. His main gripe was that CU was blocking out parking spaces, which in turn was causing police to boot vehicles. “this is y’all mistake. y’all can’t boot people’s cars,” Deion Jr. noted in the video. Parking problems have been a long-time issue in Colorado. Back in November, Travis Hunter himself had raised his side of the story when he noted that he was extremely tired of paying for parking. This entire scene exposed a major flaw in the system. There was no proper compensation for the players on the team or the staff members.

Deion Jr.’s rant was a success, though. Back on July 28th, during a meeting with the entire team, we saw Boulder Interim police chief Steve Redford appear and talk about fixing the strained relationship. “My message to you is we want you to feel welcome here,” Redford had noted during his speech to the boys. While we are still yet to see any reports of the problem being solved, this still can be called a step in the right direction. While Hunter and Bucky continue to fight about who is Deion’s favorite, Buffs fans, on the other hand, cannot wait to see the boys finally succeed this year.

Did Travis Hunter just outsmart Coach Prime? Is this the new era of player-coach dynamics?
