Hunter is ready to shake up the football world. And this time, it’s not Travis, rather Trayvis, with a ‘Y’ that’s about to redefine the family legacy. Forget Sanders; this feels more like a Manning-type run in the making. We all witnessed Travis Hunter’s legend mode activation, bulldozing his way to Heisman buzz and etching his name in college football lore. But now? It’s time to meet Trayvis Hunter—his younger brother, who’s making waves of his own. With blistering speed and an uncanny ability to leave defenders in the dust, Trayvis is collecting Division 1 offers like they’re Pokémon cards. His latest victory? Well, let’s just say it proves that football runs deep in the Hunter bloodline.

Trayvis, a rising star from Effingham County High School, is following in his brother’s footsteps as a wide receiver. But he’s not just riding the family name—his precise route running and playmaking ability make him a standout in his own right. Recently, he took to Instagram to celebrate his front-runner status, posting: “Keep it silent 🤫 till the goal is achieved❗️️Front (Runner) for my team. I do this for my fam(ily) 🖤🦍.” It didn’t take long for The Travis Hunter Show—his brother’s official show page—to respond with a simple but telling comment: “Sheesh.” That’s the reaction you have when you see a younger version of yourself making noise on the field.

Trayvis landed at Effingham County High School after transferring from Collins Hill when Travis bought a home in the area. That move turned out to be a great one for coach John Ford, who suddenly found himself with a speedster capable of electrifying the team’s passing game. And from the first moment Ford saw him in action, he knew Trayvis was special. “(Hunter fam) came out and said they’d like to visit. He-k, yeah. Trayvis is a good kid. We had a great conversation. When they got here, (Trayvis and his brother) were just messing around (racing) on the field, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, he’s running evenly with his brother,’” Ford recalled.

That speed was on full display last August in a scrimmage against Wayne County. Trayvis finished with three catches, leading the team with 43 receiving yards and a touchdown. In the third quarter, Ford called a screen pass for his 5-foot-6, 135-pound sophomore. Trayvis turned into a dart, slicing through defenders for a 22-yard score. That was the moment people started paying real attention. And they should.

Trayvis is proving himself as a legitimate talent. His latest Division 1 offer from Georgia Southern adds to a growing list that includes Tennessee State and Jackson State. With his momentum building fast, more schools are bound to come knocking.

But it’s not just about hype. Trayvis delivered when it mattered most, helping lead Effingham County to a Class 5A state playoff appearance. His season stats? 36 receptions, 496 yards, and six touchdowns. And he caught fire down the stretch—MaxPreps data shows that in the last four regular-season games alone, he racked up 19 receptions, 331 yards, and five touchdowns. That’s clutch.

Despite his smaller stature, Trayvis is proving that size isn’t everything. His explosiveness and agility turn short passes into game-breaking plays, drawing comparisons to NFL star Tyreek Hill. Quick, shifty, and nearly impossible to contain, he’s a nightmare for defenders.

What’s your perspective on:

"Trayvis Hunter: The next Tyreek Hill or just riding his brother's coattails? What do you think?"

This is just the latest chapter in the Hunter football saga. Travis recently secured a massive $3.2 million NIL deal with Adidas before heading to the NFL, and now Trayvis is carving out his own path joining the deal. With Trayvis’s rapid ascent, it’s clear the family’s legacy is set to expand beyond Travis’s pro move.

Travis Hunter’s NFL future finally sees momentum

Travis Hunter is not one to be confined to a single role. When questioned about his position in the NFL, the former CU standout remained flexible. “I did some meetings at receiver. I did some meetings at DB. So, it’s still up in the air,” he explained. Regardless of where he ends up playing, one thing is certain: he has the ability to change the game. With the NFL’s official measurements released, Hunter has another accomplishment to add to his list.

Sure, there were whispers about Hunter’s weight hovering around 170-180 pounds. But now his official measurements straight from Indianapolis—6’3 3/8″ tall, 188 pounds, with 31 3/8″ arms and a 76 7/8″ wingspan—prove he’s physically equipped for the NFL. Even pro reporter Albert Breer agrees, stating, “Indicates he could be sturdy enough to take on a big workload and potentially play both ways.” But the real debate begins here: is he primarily a cornerback or a wide receiver? The argument for the corner? Elite CBs are way harder to find than elite WRs. On the other hand, his incredible playmaking abilities are a superpower, making him a potent offensive player.

Now, amid all the chaos, Browns GM Andrew Berry, holding the second overall pick, weighed in on the debate. “Well, I’d say this, in terms of Travis Hunter, cornerback or receiver? The answer is yes, so he can play both, and I think that’s what makes him special,” Berry said. Still, he admitted they view him more as a receiver. “His superpower, they’re really his b–l skills, and that’s a position where you can use it 100 times during the season versus maybe 30 on the high end.” One thing that still holds Travis Hunter’s two-way hope is Berry’s confirmation.

Now what’s Travis Hunter’s next step? Skipping combine workouts and opting for Colorado’s Pro Day in March with teammate Shedeur Sanders. This choice allows him to dictate the narrative while also keeping teams on their toes. Hunter’s unique blend of size, skills, and versatility sets him apart, although the ongoing position debate could impact his draft position slightly. One thing is clear: no matter his role, his talent is bound to make waves in the league.
