What’s better than one hunter in the room? It’s two ‘Hunters’! While it was already there in Buffs’ dual-sensation’s name, his actions on the field just make it more evident. But now, off the field, Travis Hunter just got his mojo delivered to him. Well, it was due for a long time. With this move, the 2024 Heisman Trophy finalist gave us the legal authority to call him ‘The Hunter.’

The Buffs’ two-way star for ages is currently ranked No. 2 among college football players and No. 3 overall on On3’s NIL 100 rankings. Notably, he’s the only non-quarterback in the top 10 and is already valued at a staggering $3.1 million. And here we are all fighting over which NFL side he will join, but the guy had other plans because he is going to Hollywood! Giving justice to his name, Sony Pictures just released an action-packed teaser collaborating with the Buffs star to promote the ‘Kraven the Hunter’ movie. With the caption he posted on Instagram, “Kraven the Hunter 🤝 Travis the Hunter Catch #KraventheHunter exclusively in theatres this Thursday. Get your tickets NOW! @kraventhemovie #sonypicspartner.”

It’s safe to say this partnership is a match made in marketing heaven. In the promo video, Travis seamlessly morphs into “Travis the Hunter,” blending his football dominance with Kraven’s raw, predatory energy. It’s the perfect crossover of sports and cinema—one that feels as natural as a Hunter snagging a one-handed interception.

The timing couldn’t be better. Travis Hunter capped off Colorado’s regular season with a jaw-dropping performance against Oklahoma State. He hauled in 10 catches for 116 yards and three touchdowns—tying his career best. He didn’t stop there. On the defensive side, he grabbed his fourth interception of the year, proving why he’s the epitome of a two-way phenom. Head coach Deion Sanders was quick to emphasize Hunter’s Heisman-worthy exploits: “Three touchdowns, 100 yards, an interception, and two passes broken up. Should’ve had another pick too. He clinched the Heisman today.”

With stats like these—92 catches for 1,152 yards and 15 total touchdowns on offense, plus 31 tackles and four interceptions on defense—it’s no wonder Hollywood came knocking. Buffs 12’s versatility on the field mirrors Kraven’s relentless pursuit of his prey. The teaser captures this connection, drawing parallels between Hunter’s ability to dominate opponents and Kraven’s on-screen ferocity. It’s a clever move by Sony to align their franchise with one of college football’s own hunters.

As Kraven the Hunter hits theaters on Dec. 13, Travis Hunter will have his own blockbuster weekend. Less than 24 hours later, he’ll be in New York City as a Heisman Trophy finalist, continuing his hunt—not for villains, but for college football’s most prestigious prize.

As a two-way star for the ages, Travis Hunter is a clear favorite

The votes are in; the finalists are set, and now the only thing left to do is crown college football’s ultimate prize: the Heisman Trophy. The 2024 race has been nothing short of extraordinary, headlined by two remarkable players who defied the odds—Colorado’s two-way phenom Travis Hunter and Boise State’s record-shattering running back Ashton Jeanty. Forget the blue-chip programs; this year’s spotlight belongs to once-in-a-generation talents rewriting the script.

Hunter, the dynamic do-it-all star, has taken the football world by storm. Playing at an All-American level on both sides of the field, he hauled in jaw-dropping catches as a wide receiver and locked down opposing offenses as a cornerback. With nine wins under Colorado’s belt and Hunter dazzling in everyone, it’s no surprise he’s the heavy favorite to snag the Heisman on Saturday night. Oddsmakers have him sitting at a whopping 97.5% chance to win, leaving Jeanty’s 8% probability looking like a Hail Mary.

While Hunter steals the headlines, other finalists made their case during Championship Weekend. Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel and Miami’s Cam Ward are the other two finalists. But this feels like Hunter’s moment. The only thing missing? His acceptance speech. And also, we have two ‘Hunters’ to catch, don’t forget.
