Is Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter playing a game? We all know the Buffs HC has a fourth son and it’s Hunter. Even Coach Prime prides himself as a father figure to this amazing football freak. But lately, the whole father-son drama has gotten into the Buffs two-way player who just found another reason to feel sore with Deion Sanders.
Travis Hunter is feeling neglected. That’s what we can see after following his exchange with Deion Sanders for the past few days. On October 19, Deion Sanders posted his sons on Instagram tagging Deion Sanders Jr., Shilo Sanders, and Shedeur Sanders. Shining the spotlight on each of his son’s pictures, he added a heartfelt caption which read, “Lord thank u for all my sons the young men I coach and the coaches that are a true blessing to me.” Travis Hunter, who wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the post, penned down his bottled frustration in his comment, “Ok one more strike😡”

So how have things come to be as they are now? It all began a week ago when Deion Sanders gave a shout out to NBA champion LeBron James and his son Bronny James for becoming the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game together. He followed this with the promise, “I’m COMING back to play with my sons to! This is HISTORICAL! Give this man his FLOWERS NOW! This speaks to Fatherhood, Excellence & Longevity.” In the pictures, he’s sandwiched between Shedeur and Shilo. Hunter DM’d Deion Sanders and asked, “Ok now why I’m not in this picture 🤔”

Deion Sanders replied with a GIF of his young self with the sentence, “I can fix that.” True to his word, he now has Travis Hunter, along with his sons and him, as the front cover of the post. And now, after what Deion Sanders posted, do you think it’s legit for Hunter to feel the pain of this snub?
Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter’s current relationship
Lately, there have been harsh speculations that Deion Sanders is destroying Travis Hunter’s NFL future. But let’s not forget this. The 57-year-old watched the 2023 Paul Hornung winner rise from a rising star at Jackson State to a formidable two-way threat today. He knows his potential as a two-way player just as a father recognizes a son’s talent. He said, “He’s done this his whole life. You can’t take that away from him. That’s why I’m happy I’m his coach because I understand holistically.”

Have an interesting take?
Another time, Deion Sanders’ point of view of Travis Hunter as a son shone when he was asked who among them would win a one-on-one matchup. He said, “That’s just like putting me against one of my kids. You can’t put a father against a son. You can’t do that, man. Don’t do that.” The Buffs HC is aware of the exposure but he made it clear it’s the stats they’re striving for as he said, “Sure he’s exposed to many more plays but he’s exposed to making more plays as well.” We believe it’s all in good intentions! We never know, he could be doing the same for Shedeur or Shilo if they were a dual threat like him and Hunter!
