The Sanders family is known for their love of all things glitzy and glamorous. From their icy jewelry to their blinged-out lifestyles, everything they wear is a fashion statement, especially their sneakers and cleats. And we’re not just talking about Coach Prime; his sons, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders, have always been known for their impressive cleat collections. But this “footwear fever” has now spread to another Buffs star, as Travis Hunter steals the show this week with his one-of-a-kind cleat design for the game against Kansas.
On October 12, 2024, content creator GUCCE released a video featuring Buffs’ dual-threat player, Travis Hunter, as he unveiled his new cleats on his X account. The cleats’ sleek, shimmering black design is sure to make anyone do a double-take. Travis even gave his fans a sneak peek on social media and did a live unboxing on TikTok. During the unboxing, Hunter couldn’t hold back his excitement, saying, “These are so hard, bro. These are tough, buddy. I haven’t missed anything yet.” Although Hunter has sported plenty of stylish cleats and sneakers before, this pair stood out with its unique look and texture.

To top it off, GUCCE also shared a 49-second video on October 12, 2024, with the caption, “Watch how these cleats were made for Travis Hunter🔥.” The video revealed the intricate process of creating Travis’s cleats, showcasing the hard work that went into them. It also highlighted that the cleats, adorned with crystal decorations, were custom-made by EB Shoe Customs, a company that reportedly spent more than nine hours crafting this one-of-a-kind pair.

It seems like Hunter finally has some impressive artwork to wear on his feet. After playfully complaining about Shilo Sanders’ pricey Nike shoes, Hunter’s wish for his own statement-making footwear has been granted.
Shilo and Travis Hunter’s week 7 cleat showdown
Just a few days earlier, Buffs’ safety Shilo Sanders had been flaunting his new “Nike LeBron Prime” cleats, proudly showing off the $180 kicks to the camera and boasting about them being “Special made.” The design is a blend of LeBron James’ Nike LeBron 21 signature model and Coach Prime’s signature sneaker model. Seeing this, Travis Hunter couldn’t resist taking a jab at Shilo, jokingly saying, “Yeah, he got LeBron Primes on,” and teasing him further by adding, “Give to the wrong to the wrong people. I see a lot of other guys. He has been here for three weeks, and he got the C before everybody else.”

Hunter’s playful rant is pretty understandable, especially considering that Shilo had just returned to the practice field after an injury, while Hunter has been putting in the work all season with 46 receptions for 561 yards and 6 touchdowns. Now, the Buffs are gearing up to face the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday after their bye week. Head Coach Deion Sanders is busy crafting a new game plan that takes Shilo Sanders into account, especially after Kansas State’s solid 42-20 win over Oklahoma State.
During the DNVR Sports pregame news conference, Coach Prime shared his thoughts on the team’s strategy, saying, “Carter [Stoutmire] has done a wonderful job, got a lot of experience, and uh, he’s in on some packages as well, but Shilo’s full go.” It’s clear that Coach Sanders is aiming to build a cohesive defensive strategy for the team. With Hunter continuing his strong performances and Shilo returning to the field, the Buffs seem ready to put on a show against Kansas State. Let’s see if their new cleats give them an extra boost for their Week 7 game.
