First Deion Sanders, then Shedeur Sanders, and now, Travis Hunter! Coach JB always has something interesting to troll Colorado with and this time, he’s targeting the “best football player in college football.” With just one season remaining in college football, Coach JB Reveals Travis Hunter’s NFL projection and it didn’t sit well with a Colorado alum.

In a new YouTube episode on The Coach JB Show with Big Smitty on September 27, Jason Brown opened the debate by saying, “Travis Hunter will not be a great NFL player. Is that crazy? Ludicrous? Or bat-s— crazy?” Former NFL star and Colorado alum Matt McChesney asserted that it’s a combination of all three. Brown also projected that the Buffs’ two-way star won’t be playing both ways in the NFL.

This is what Coach JB’s observation of Travis Hunter is — “He’s not a finite route runner, he’s not big enough to sustain the NFL at wideout for an entire season, and then on DB, he goes over to play corner, he’s too little, he’s too small and what’s he gonna do?” McChesney who has been in disbelief all this time told Coach JB, “You’re full of s—” He followed it with his own perception of Travis Hunter.

Contrasting with Coach JB’s views, McChesney said, “Travis Hunter is a unicorn. He’s f—— special.” He went on to defend how the 6’1, 185-pounder is big enough for both positions. He also voiced his concerns on haters for trying to bring down this incredibly talented player saying, “I don’t know why when somebody reached this point where he’s elite, so elite on both sides of the football, no one’s ever done what he’s doing, he’s a front runner for the Heisman and now it’s tear-down time.” Travis Hunter had been phenomenal last year and his incredible plays followed him into this season.

Travis Hunter’s hype is legit

A one-in-a-million athlete Travis Hunter still snagged the coveted 2023 Paul Hornung Award for the most versatile player despite missing three games due to a lacerated liver injury. He played for 566 snaps on defense, 436 snaps on offense, and 30 on special teams last season. And this season, we’re witnessing the rise of the “glitch” once more as he dominates his opponents with his plays.

Now, in the four games played, Travis Hunter averages 118 receiving yards per game. He leads Colorado with 37 catches for 472 yards, five TDs, and 14 tackles. His last incredible final play against Baylor boosted his credibility as a potential Heisman Trophy contender. Do you think Coach JB’s views on this highly-hyped two-way player are valid?
