Home/College Football

Oh man, can you just picture the cost for a team that would want to retain a star like Travis Hunter for one more year alone? It is like trying to control a cash cow that is likely to fly to the NFL at any time. In the loony bin otherwise known as college football and where characters such as Hunter can almost single-handedly alter the complexion of a team you have to go out all out. Deion Sanders realizes this better than most people. But then again, no one would have ever thought Travis would be tricking him like this.

So, here’s the deal. You got yourself Hunter, who has been simply amazing for Colorado, performing superbly in attacking and defending. He is practically screaming it out for the NFL, and everyone knows the time has come for him to answer the call.

So true, as you may have read—Travis took it upon himself to jest that he wanted $40 million to hang around. “40 mil, yeah that would do, 40 mil it is”, Travis agreed to Coach Prime’s offer casually. So apparently, Travis has a hilarious, yet bold condition if he’s gonna stick around in Boulder a little longer. And it concerns Deion’s bank account.

Hunter told Coach Prime that if he wanted him to play another year at Colorado and make him wait for the NFL, it would cost him 90% of his net worth. Now, let’s talk numbers. The NFL and MLB multimillion star Deion Sanders is now worth a total of $45 million.

Colorado gotta break the bank for Travis Hunter

What’s your perspective on:

Is Travis Hunter worth $40 million to Colorado, or is the NFL calling too loud to ignore?

Have an interesting take?

45 mil!!! They’re getting that kind of cash after being a multi-sport hero and a head coach with the attitude of Prime Time. But surely for Hunter, more than the money it is also about putting on halt his NFL dreams.

Off the field, Hunter is already raking in some good money on his own, right? His net worth is estimated to be $ 6 million in 2024, a good sum of money for a college player. This kid has big-time NIL offers and buzz and any school would cater to them at the drop of a hat just to maintain him in their jersey for another season.

Now it’s all jokes of course. But oh wait, you think it’s funny, huh? But the funny part is, you gotta wonder if it’s that much of a joke. Hunter brings so much more than scoring goals to the Colorado team. It’s just, he is a vibe and he is one of the reasons more people are interested in Colorado football at the moment. Sure, it may not be a daily possibility for Coach Prime to drop that type of money, yet, you can’t put a price on the value Hunter provides. There are doubts that even the $40 million would be enough to keep him away from the NFL, or will it?
