After all the scoreboard clashes, ultimately it’s the fight for the bronze embodiment of the muscular footballer driving for the yardage trophy. Before the 2024 kickoff, the race stood in favor of Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter who was hailed as the top Heisman contender. But as time passed by, Hunter slowly lost his position in front of Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty. Now it looks like that even Jeanty and Hunter will have to take the backseat. That’s what CFB analyst firmly believes as the initial top contenders face intense pressure from two QBs. Meanwhile, did it strike you that one name is missing? Yes, it’s the Buffs QB Shedeur Sanders. Obviously, it did not sit well with Deion Sanders.
Things were going pretty smoothly for Hunter when against NDSU he caught three touchdowns, against Colorado State he caught 13 passes for exactly 100 yards and two touchdowns. The Buffs two-way star even became the first FBS player in the last 20 seasons with 100 receiving yards. But things went awry when Jeanty rose to the limelight as the Broncos crushed the Utah State Aggies. The RB came off as dominant by carrying the ball 31 times for 217 yards along with a rushing touchdown. But on October 23, analyst Adam Breneman came up with an analysis that straightway came off as a warning for both Hunter and Jeanty. The analyst dropped the first threat- Oregon Ducks QB Dillon Gabriel. “He is the most polished quarterback in college football and experience still matters in the sport,” stated Breneman.

But what made the analyst drop the revolutionary analysis? “What we saw against Ohio State is what matters the most to me. When his team needed him the most, he delivered a Heisman-quality performance and delivered drive after drive. This guy is a winner,” the analyst dropped in with the big claim. And who is the other big threat that Hunter and Jeanty need to worry about?
Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward. According to the analyst, he is the “most electric player in college football.” What has been Ward’s USP? The QB stands out not just for one reason, but for several. His patience in the pocket, ability to extend plays, and powerful arm make him a force to be reckoned with. Amidst all the limelight of the new contenders and the existing ones, the Buffs ‘Grown’ QB failed to reel in any attention.

The Heisman race heats up, but no Shedeur Sanders is in sight
Even though Shedeur has never been hailed as the top contender in the Heisman race, at least he had found himself a spot on the list. But poor Shedeur! While his teammate is still very much present in the race, the Buffs QB got snubbed. On October 20, taking into account how the eight weeks have been for the contenders, College Football Reports dropped in with a special list.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Shedeur Sanders being unfairly overlooked in the Heisman race despite his impressive performances?

Surprised, right? No Shedeur Sanders on the list. How could Deion Sanders just be okay with the fact? “My man he’s a Sanders! That right there applies u for hate. He’s built for it tho. Keep the song playing,” revolted Coach Prime. Will the Colorado fans be lucky enough to find another Buffs on the list other than Travis Hunter? Let your opinion pour in.
