We are going to approach the end of the regular season soon. While college football programs have their eyes set on the national championship, the Heisman Trophy race is getting intense. Week 12 is here and the dynamics keep changing every week; however, few players are in the spotlight.

Any guesses? You are right if Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty just popped into your mind. Both of them are doing wonders this season. Although Travis had to miss a game midseason because of his injury, he has still maintained to be a leading contender. On the other hand, Jeanty has proved over time why he is the best player with his contribution to the success of his team. While the discussion is on football, analyst David Pollack has made his choice and introduced a new threat from the Big Ten.

On November 14, David Pollack breaks down week 12 of the College Football season on his YouTube channel, David Pollack College Football. While they were discussing the coming week, Chris “Bear” Fallica, another analyst, questioned him about his favorite player, to which he said, “I think the second guy is, obviously, Cam Ward last week; that took a huge hit, so that takes him, I think, out of the mix. I don’t think Jeanty has a chance. I think Jeanty is an animal, but I know how this works fair. I’ve seen how this works. I’ve seen how if you don’t touch the football, every play you have or have something very unique.” He further sets aside Deion Sanders’s two-way star and mentions, “You don’t really have a chance to dominate and put and win the Heisman. He’s still in Gabriel, like he is the spinning machine at Oregain.” We all know that Travis Hunter is a unique player who plays on both sides. Often Deion Sanders has defended him and mentioned he deserved the trophy. Hunter himself has expressed his willingness to win.

Pollack further highlighted the Ducks’ success and emphasized that Gabriel plays a huge role in their undefeated season. “Like he gets the ball out quick, they listen. He struggled early in the year and once, but once he got his feet wet. And now Tez is out, which last week you could tell they kind of sluggish start off into that one too but the reason. Oregon is where they’re at. It’s not because of a dominant offensive line.” He added, “They’ve got great receivers; they’ve got a good running back, but it’s because of Dylan Gabriel, like that guy is spinning the rock, he’s throwing a deep.” Gabriel is Dan Lanning’s star but Buffs is incomplete without Travis Hunter. Do you agree? So far, he has caught nine passes for 99 yards and scored a touchdown in their last game over Texas Tech.

Have an interesting take?

Week 12 is here and competition is getting tough. Gabriel has been doing wonders for the Ducks and plays a significant role in the Ducks’ 10-0 record. But Ashton Jeanty is a special player as well. When did college football last witness a running back like him? So far, he is having a historic season. Boise State is fortunate to have him on their team as he leads the team toward the college football playoffs.

Despite tough competition, Jeanty is leading in rushing yards with 1,734 yards and 23 rushing touchdowns. Last week against Nevada 28-21, he achieved his career high with 34 carries for 209 yards and three touchdowns. We know it is very difficult to stand out among the top athletes of the country but Jeanty, stay there; you are on the right track. The junior running back is also a top pick in the 2025 NFL draft. After this season, the college football world is losing many key players. It will be interesting to see where he lands.
