Remember when Max Browne pointed out, “Drafting Travis Hunter is like ordering from the McDonald’s menu. There’s something for everyone on the menu… But not all menu items are created equal.” It almost feels like we circle back to the same dilemma every month: where do you play, Travis Hunter? In so many years of covering college football, never have we found such a case revolving around any player. Either they are a good offense or defense – no in-between. Yet here we are. 116 snaps at the Colorado State game with a historic 2 TDs with 100 yards and an interception. No one in the FBS had accomplished such a thing, except, well, Kevin Lockett back in 1996. When Travis Hunter is this freaking good at what he does on the receiver corp and as a CB, we can put our 2 cents in and bet that any NFL roster is going to have a rough time slotting this guy.
Or will they?
In a conversation with CBS Sports, when this same dilemma was brought up, Hunter made it clear that in almost every single meeting with the teams, he made it clear that it is 2-way or no-way. “It’s never playing football again. Because I’ve been doing it my whole life,” Hunter revealed. Now, the interesting revelation from this conversation is that no team has objected to Hunter’s demands. Also, here is the thing: Why would they? During Deion Sanders’ 2024 campaign, Travis Hunter clocked an eye-popping 1,484 snaps. And when you actually sit with that number for a second… yeah, it’s downright insane.

This also settles the whole “NFL snaps are tougher” debate—let’s look at the numbers. The average snap interval in FBS last season was about 31.8 seconds, compared to the NFL’s 35.5. So yeah, Travis Hunter racked up 1,484 snaps faster than anyone in the league, even had the chance to.
Do the math, then drop the mic.
See, you HAVE to understand this—college football hasn’t delivered a game-changer like Travis Hunter in at least five years. Not since guys like DeVonta Smith or Joe Burrow lit up the field has anyone made this kind of noise. And the NFL? Still waiting for someone to match the hype.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Travis Hunter redefine what it means to be a two-way player in the NFL?
Have an interesting take?
This guy can talk the talk and walk the walk, so there is no point in trying to typecast him into a single role. Give him the b–l and let him do his thing—forget about the entire “WR or CB” conversation. The real question fans should be asking right now? Which NFL team’s lucky enough to land a generational talent like Travis Hunter?
To Cleveland?
At #2 or at #3—Regardless of what happens in Green Bay, we do know one thing: right now Browns have the highest momentum of snapping Hunter away. It doesn’t matter how much Jerry Jones “trades up”. He is getting neither Shedeur nor Hunter at this point.

Coming back to the Browns conversation, we think the fans would agree that Cleveland could be the most apt landing spot for their superstar. Why? Browns GM Andrew Berry is all ready to fuel the Hunter 2-way narrative in the big league.
“In terms of Travis Hunter; cornerback or receiver, the answer is ‘yes.’ He can play both, and I think that’s what makes him special,” Berry had pointed out. Although most teams see Travis Hunter as WR first, the Browns are willing to take the gamble to let the star do whatever he wants.
That is not all. Even Adam Schefter revealed that the Browns would happily use their No.2 to snag the talent. “There are signs that point to the Browns now using the No. 2 overall pick on Colorado standout Travis Hunter,” Schefter pointed out on X.
