Cormani McClain’s potential debut as a cornerback for the Florida Gators has been a recurring theme for a while now. McClain did have an edgy start with Napier’s team a few months back. Shortly after the Florida Gators signed the 6 ft 2 talent, the situation took a pear shape with a few sources claiming that the team ousted McClain for his improper behavior.

In an abrupt move on Wednesday, coach Billy Napier announced that the team would only release the “availability report” and not the depth chart. When the injury report came out, fans started to speculate whether it was finally the time for McClain.

As the question was popped on the X account by user ‘PolkWay’ , fans let opinions out on social media through a slew of sarcastic comments. But this time the shaft is on McClain with fans heavily doubting his potential to be a part of the top 11 of the team. The fans went hilariously nit-picky in the comments.

A string of replies showed how much faith or rather how little faith fans had in this former Buff. The comments were filled with digs on his stature as a player and further his loyalty towards the Gators. The youngster might not want to read the comments posted in the section below.

Fans slammed Cormani McClain’s worth following Billy Napier’s latest verdict

McClain had not been his best in Colorado in the past season, starting only at four games and that too with a pretty generic performance. Also, his lesser pounds have always been troll content for fans. The 165-pound CB naturally possesses some restraints to fit the role of an ideal defenseman. Although he recently put on 10 pounds through a rigorous diet and workout, netizens still consider him inadequate to carry the load and hence the mocking spree continues. A fan wrote, ”Cormani will not play until he’s physically ready, which will be in 2025… boy too small”

What’s your perspective on:

Did Billy Napier just make the biggest mistake of his career by benching Cormani McClain?

Have an interesting take?

Another fan capitalized on the taunt, throwing direct shades on McClain’s ability to tackle a well-poised Texas. Pointing figure at his naiveness, the fan questioned, ”Does he know any of the coverages? Does he know anything about Texas A&M’s offense?”

Some fans see clear-cut unavailability of him for the game next week as they see no ground for Napier to call him back on the active roster. So, they wrote a simple ‘No’ in the response to the debut question. The assumption seems to be a logical jump since the Coach has a lot of options (Johnson Dijon, Ja’Keem Jackson, etc) for his defense deck.

Given how the defense situation was not up to the mark for the team against the Miami Hurricanes, it will be a wise call to explore McClain in his full range to better understand what he brings to the table and to use accordingly in the future. A few fans hold on to this point and are hoping for a debut. One of them voiced their opinion, ”I’d assume so, they really thin at Cb this game.”
