Looks like Shane Beamer gifted the South Carolina Gamecocks a full glow-up. The program’s curve has only gone up this season. After all, nine wins for the Gamecocks is no joke! This season marked the third time in their school history that they bagged nine victories. Did they even imagine beating Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama Crimson Tide? Maybe not even in their wildest dreams! But the fault is in their stars. Even giving Bama a tough time, did not smoothen their path to the playoffs. As the CFB analyst stressed that Beamer’s squad’s playoff dreams are in jeopardy, the HC should have gone into complete panic mode. But maybe for Beamer, ‘silence is golden.’
Right now, the College Football Playoff committee is struggling with the daunting challenge of pooling together the top 12 programs. And definitely it’s no easy task. But things for a change looked positive for the otherwise struggling Beamer and his boys. However, this season had to be different after they crushed Old Dominion Monarchs 23-19. A year ago their offensive line was in a horrendous state and look at them now, they have added an oomph factor to their game to carry the legacy of the legendary RB Raheim “Rocket” Sanders. Also how to forget their star QB LaNorris Sellers who gifted 21-for-30 passing for 353 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception against Missouri? So on the On3 podcast, analyst Aaron Murray had to say, “I love South Carolina.” But mind you, as loving as it might sound, it came with a clause.

Remember how Beamer’s South Carolina went all head-to-head with DeBoer’s army? Yes, the Crimson Tide had a neck-to-neck win, 27-25. This might have been the turning point for the Gamecocks coming off as a warning for programs who took them lightly. But now Murray believes that their doors are closed for the playoffs, “Do I think they get in the playoffs? Probably not. You know what they went into Tuscaloosa and they lost a close game that they should have won…you can make that excuse for them to jump Alabama. I don’t think you can make the excuse of them jumping Ole Miss.”
That’s because Alabama gave them the chance to use Sellers’ fumble as an excuse for the loss and qualifying over the Crimson Tide. But Ole Miss had put an end to all their hopes since going over the Rebels seemed like an impossible task as they crushed Beamer’s army, 27-3. Looks like, the FOX Sports analyst is on the same page with Murray.

How Shane Beamer keeps playoff buzz at bay
It’s going to be an impossible task to leave No.13 Alabama and No.14 Ole Miss behind and slide into the playoffs, even though South Carolina is at No.15. That’s what Joel Klatt believes. The analyst landed a reality check for Beamer, “You’re not passing those teams. So do I think South Carolina actually has a path [to the playoffs]? No. I wouldn’t even call it narrow. I don’t think that they have a path.”
On the contrary, he seemed all hopeful about DeBoer’s army and Lane Kiffin’s program, “Bama and Ole Miss do [have a path to the playoffs]. I think it’s narrow. But I think that there is a path.” Yes, we know that the Gamecocks resume looks strong with their losses being quality. But mind you, having losses to the two teams ranked directly ahead of them doesn’t bode well. Surprisingly, Beamer has kept himself away from all these calculations.

Instead, he keeps his lips all tight! When asked about his playoff plans the HC stated, “We don’t talk about it, none of it matters if you don’t go out there and play well on Saturday.” Yes, that’s how focused the HC is before their big face-off against Clemson, warding off all the bad juju.
