Once again, the Buffs and Deion Sanders have proven that you cannot always have too much faith in them. 4 massive road game wins for the team, probably the most in the Buffs history so far, and then came the Jayhawks upset. Dude, the Kansas Jayhawks have turned into a playoff dream-breaker for others, and unfortunately, Deion Sanders and Co. were right in the crosshairs. As much as we would’ve loved to see the Buffs in the playoffs, we have to settle for the Bowl game now, but what is more important is the fact that Deion Sanders managed to make 2024 the year of redemption. Going from 4-8 to 8-3, Colorado is still writing its destiny.
However, much like every other fairy tale, there are goodbyes in this one as well. Back on Instagram, Deion Sanders shared a small clip talking about the “last call”. “This is your last call. So if I were you, I would give it everything I got,” Coach Prime mentioned. This year was massive. Not only because it gave the boys a chance to prove themselves but also because it was the final year, and they got to wear black and gold. See, Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, or any senior on the roster is leaving. So, they gotta make the final few games count. The 2025 draft is right around the corner after this season, and the Bowl games are over; NFL is the next destination.

Right now, we still don’t have a tap on where everyone is going. For Hunter, the Seahawks or the Raiders are a safe bet, but this guy could also prove massive for the Giants. Travis has always been clear on the idea of playing 2-way in the NFL as well. While people have said that playing that many snaps on that league just ain’t possible, we all know Deion’s wonder child is capable of creating history.
For Shedeur, the draft pick is all over the place. Mel Kiper placed Shedeur in the QB1 spot for the draft, and he deserves it. He managed to turn the tide for Colorado against Baylor and then stood his ground alone against Kansas Wildcats. The best option right now still looks like the Cowboys.

With Jerry Jones all in for a revamp as Dak Prescott’s contract continues to expand and the team’s run continues to suffer, Shedeur will add the much-needed spice and could change the history of the team. But keeping all of this aside, what of Coach Prime? With his best boys gone, who will Deion Sanders make the next big star of Colorado Buffs football?
