An epidemic has infested discourse in society at large, and the footballing realm hasn’t been immune either. Social media has only fanned the flames of it. It’s the fallacious and dangerously widespread notion that public figures’ private lives are up for discourse. That said, Bill Belichick hasn’t done himself any favors with the unconventionality of his relationship. As a result, this epidemic swept across to him.

Belichick caused a stir when his exit from the Patriots coincided with his publicizing his relationship with 24-year-old Jordan Hudson. How we’ve heard about rebounds, and Belichick sure was coming out of a 23-year “marriage” with the Pats. But he may have taken the next number in order too literally. The couple apparently met via pure fate on an airplane and sat adjacent to each other. Fast forward 2 years, and their relationship is going strong. But there’s allegedly more than meets the eye. Cracks may be beginning to form in the foundations of this atypical companionship if a couple of football media members are to go by.

Owing to Bill Belichick’s public persona, Jordan has herself garnered a platform and voice. She’s been steadily building up her social media presence. Over the aptly named “Sports Gossip Show,” hosts and sports journalists Madeline Hill and Charlotte Wilder discussed Jordan Hudson’s recent IG activity. They think there’s some peculiar stuff ongoing, which points to friction between the couple. In fact, they’re of the belief Jordan controls Belichick’s IG activity as well. Something that triggered a “fight”.

“I’m a little concerned about both of them based on Instagram activity,” remarked Madeline Hill. “[Jordan] posted on her story pictures of roses that Bill [Belichick] had given her, and then she posted onto her main feed pictures of roses with a bunch of rose emojis…anytime people really start going hard on like, ‘look how much we love each other,’ I get a little suspicious. I’m like, is this wishful thinking? Is something not going well? You’re trying to double down?” she said, before then saying, “pure speculation.” However, Hill did point to something she proclaims to be “1000%” sure about. A sentiment that her co-host concurred with.

“Our whole theory here, by the way, is that Jordan is running [Bill Belichick’s] Instagram account, and I feel 1,000% confident that’s correct me…because he has a book coming out and the caption uses big words again that are not necessarily what you would use and are in her voice,” claimed Madeline Hill. She has previously spoken about how Jordan tends to use “big words” on her own IG that are often written out of context.

A Gen-Z helping a 73-year-old run their social media is not out of the ordinary. But keep in mind, nothing about the dynamic between this couple resonates with the ordinary. The hosts added 2 and 2 from the timeline of events and came to a hypothesis—that they’re fighting, alongside why.

Madeline Hill said, “[Jordan Hudson] posted that [Belichick] has a book coming out on his Instagram. Then, two days later, his Instagram story is a very zoomed-in picture of that post. The next slide is just a blurry slide, and it just has a line of text…It is a hyperlink written out that you can’t click…It was so painful. But clearly, he was trying to do something.” Hill implied that this was Bill Belichick trying to take back the onus of his own IG and book but not quite being up to speed with how to work the app. Hence, the erratic nature of the posts is something opposite to when Jordan controls his account.

To this, her co-host Charlotte Wilder said, “I think they got in a fight about the Instagram. [Jordan’s] like, ‘You don’t know how to use this. I know how to do it, just let me run it. [Belichick is] a stubborn man, and said, ‘I want to do it myself. Let me do it myself.’…I checked this morning and his post was still up. So she hasn’t gone in and taken it down. That’s why I think they’re in a fight about it.” It’s almost impressive how the two hosts took things from relatively nothing to a whole lot! Madeline Hill even made the suggestion Belichick gave Jordan those roses because of this supposed fight. This isn’t the first time the show has discussed their relationship.

Well, at least the pair doesn’t shy away from the nature of this discourse, with “Gossip” quite literally in the name of their show. Bill Belichick’s and Jordan Hudson’s relationship came under more mainstream scrutiny this weekend, too. The couple showed up to the NFL Honors ceremony clad in Belichick’s 8 Super Bowl rings, which Jordan wore a couple off too. Certain factions, perhaps begrudgingly, also made comments about her outfit and how the dynamic didn’t represent that of a boyfriend and his girlfriend.

UNC fans voiced their disdain with how Belichick’s private life showed the school in a bad light. As aforementioned, discussing others’ private affairs has become an epidemic sweeping around the world. The only antidote is to live and let live.
