There is no doubt that when it comes to college football, Michigan has one of the most successful head coaches, Sherrone Moore. He knows what it takes to succeed. But let’s not kid ourselves here. Moore is not just any coach who has come across the trail and blazed his own way through by imparting pure winning performances.
He addressed fans for the first time recently in an interview with CBS Sports College Football where he talked about things he cannot do without and the jobs he undertook before becoming a coach.
Moore just wants good sleep, some muscle building sessions in the gym and being with his team. He shared some memories of the menial jobs that made him feel more connected with reality before facing the larger-than-life challenges. Moore said, “There is no more fear when there is an 8-year-old’s mom or dad yelling at you when you make a wrong call on the basketball court.”

Have an interesting take?
In his interview, Moore said that refereeing became enlightening for him and he realized how powerful it is to learn to defend oneself when criticized. These early jobs weren’t just about earning a paycheck; No!, it was character development for Moore, who was gonna later be embraced later as the coach of Michigan.
But one could add that not only the early jobs formed Moore, but also his ambition, which seemed to have no limits. Moore was not a man who was satisfied just to work and get by. He wanted more, and he was willing to do more to get it. Stories like his- from mowing lawns to coaching the Michigan Wolverines- are really inspiring. It is rather obvious as to why good sleep, the weight room and being in the company of his team are paramount for him now. These are the things that make him stay focused and well-prepared to lead his team to victory.
