It was way back in 2023 when we first learned who Deion Sanders’ favorite kid was. During an episode of Well Of Media, Deion mentioned that Deion Sanders Jr. made it to the top of his list. All of it boils down to the work Deion Jr. has put in to shape up the entire social media and the hype around the Buffs. You have to give this guy some major credit. You wanna know why everyone has the Buffs on their tongue? It’s Deion Jr. and his ability to market the team, just like Coach Prime manages to market himself. However, it’s been a year now and the question of who the favorite kid is has been placed on the table yet again.

And Coach Prime had the perfect answer for it. On the September 20th episode of Colorado Football Coaches Show, Deion opened up regarding the favorite kid debate. “Parents all lie…. I don’t love all of them the same….. All my sons are different, so it’s a different level of love I have to give them,” Deion mentioned. Makes sense when you think about it. All of Coach Prime’s kids are into different things. While Deion Jr. continues to manage social media, Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders are making a name for themselves as the QB and Safety for the Buffs. So the love you give them has to be filtered.

However, one thing is true. Deion has never shied away from showing his love on the internet. When the Buffs went up against the Huskers, RB Dante Dowdell put in a rush, which accidentally caused Shilo Sanders to get injured. We saw how Deion kept all the fans updated regarding Shilo’s condition through posts on Instagram. Coach Prime even made sure to accompany Shilo during his forearm surgery as well.

Even for Shedeur, Deion made sure to praise how well the QB managed to land his shots during the NDSU season opener. Shedeur brought in 4 touchdowns and 445 yards during that game, and Deion praised his son’s accuracy. Coach Prime also showed enough concern when Shedeur was sacked 1 time during that game. “You never want to see your son get hit, let alone your quarterback,” Deion had mentioned.

While his love and concern for his sons is quite visible, is there someone else in the Sanders family who doesn’t get the recognition they deserve from their father (Coach Prime)? Well, we do know of a name and she’s into basketball.

Deion Sanders and his relationship with his daughter

Shelomi Sanders is doing something no kid of Deion could ever dream of. She decided to go against her father’s wishes and leave the Buffs to join Alabama. Now this raised a heck lot of controversy. Deion called this entire move “stupid”. Shelomi’s decision was based on the fact that she wanted more growth for her career and the move seemed like the best option. I don’t want to say anything too bad. It just wasn’t good energy,” Shelomi had mentioned when talking about leaving the Buffs.

“Where I come from, historically, kids follow their parents,” was what Coach Prime had first said when he heard Shelomi’s decision. With time, Deion has become more accepting of the entire thing. However, we rarely see him sing praises of his daughter. A&M basketball coach Dawn Thornton had mentioned, “Shelomi is just what we need on ‘The Hill’,” when talking about Shelomi and how well she was doing with the team. On the other hand, we have seen Deion barely share anything about her. Well, the dust will settle when it’s time.
