Did Colorado fans go too far in ruining Shedeur Sanders' Hail Mary moment?

Colorado and Baylor fans get to witness a nail-biting game in week 4. Although coach Prime’s team won by 7 points, Baylor put up a tough fight and had a chance to snatch it all in over time. Buffs’ savior and two-way star, Travis Hunter, was phenomenal. His strategies, speed, and agility were on point throughout the game. However, apart from him, quarterback Shedeur Sanders’s Hail Mary touchdown was the cherry on the cake for the Buffs. Sanders attempted the Hail Mary in the dying seconds of the game. It was a thing of beauty, a once-in-a-lifetime moment for a player when God answers that prayer. It was a prayer indeed! LaJohntay Wester’s catch will forever be etched in the memory of those who saw it live.

However, the crazy didn’t end there. The crowd saw Hunter making a game-winning play in the overtime, forcing a fumble into the endzone, thereby ending the game. The crowd didn’t wait for the official review to end and just stormed the field. Sanders has his take on fans’ behavior, and he isn’t happy with some aspects of the whole ordeal.

Commenting on the fan storming the field, Shedeur said, “I did a little meet-up with everybody yesterday. It was a couple guys who came in there. I said, Hey bro, when you all rest in the field, you know that stuff hurts, right? You all be drunk and let go. Let’s go, bro. You know I just got hit out there, so it doesn’t feel good, bro. I almost feel somebody reaching for my team, and I said, Hold on, bro.” He added. “I turn around. I look back. I don’t see anybody, everybody smiling like this. As soon as I turn around, they are trying to snatch my chain. I thought we were on the same team. I am telling you from my own fans, man.”

Of course, it’s all for the fans! We all saw how dead the games looked without fans during COVID lockdowns. Players die to see such a level of intensity and enthusiasm. It’s like everyone was holding it together for so long. They were done with all their nails. And when that moment struck, they saw a Baylor player dropping the ball just as he was about to reach the endzone; there came the release! And then the eruption of joy! Thousands rushed to the field.

Among those thousands, the behavior of a few were highlighted by Shedeur. Snatching the chain of a player doesn’t matter, even if he is an opponent, is not right! In this case, it was the star boy himself: Shedeur Sanders.

Prime Time urges his team to reach full potential despite victory in week 4

Although the Colorado Buffaloes won over Baylor on Saturday, they have a lot to improve. Baylor not only gave them a strong competition but actually showed them a mirror, which clearly said that games in the future are going to be more competitive. Head coach Deion Sanders also thinks the same; he emphasized that his team has to perform better and reach their full potential.

Colorado Buff’s media page reported his comment after the game, “I think we’re so much better than what we’re showing you at times.” He added, “We keep showing you glimpses of running games. We show you glimpses of us playing hard-nosed, tough football defensively. We show you we can throw the ball all around, and then we just stall for a series of two and surrender something foolishly… But I’m pleased.”

Deion Sander’s comment highlights that he is not taking any game lightly, although the team won, and it was their day. He is confident, but at the same time his frustration reflects through his comment. In the game against UCF, the team must improve several things.

First of all, the O-line. Please, protect your quarterback. It’s great to see Shedeur extending the play and giving it his all so that his WRs can get into the game. With that come the sacks, and a lot of them! It is not sustainable. Another obvious area that needs to be improved is the special teams. How are we allowing a receiving team run through all of you to score a touchdown? The game was 10-10 when that happened, around six minutes before the halftime. It became 10-17 and soon, 10-24. Of course, it’s amazing to see your stars play like stars. But, playing from behind is not really a good idea every game. Just fix these two things, and the Buffs would have a comfortable sailing against the UCF.
