With Arch Manning shining, should Quinn Ewers be worried about his starting position?

After winning the season opener 52-0 over Colorado State in the first week of college football season, followed by a terrific 31-12 win against their biggest rivals, Michigan in the second week, Texas is determined to give one after another power-packed performance. Following this, everyone predicted that they might slow down a bit toward the third game of the season against UTSA, but they once again demonstrated why they are ranked as the No. 2 team in college football.

Furthermore, they came across a difficult situation in today’s game when their starting quarterback, Quinn Ewers, got injured and backup Arch Manning took charge of his spot. But the backup QB’s excellent play guaranteed their victory. “I just tried to stay calm and play my game,” Manning stated after winning the game.

After Quinn Ewers got injured, Texas fans got a little worried about the next situation in the game between the Longhorns and UTSA. But to everyone’s surprise, Arch Manning handled it quite effortlessly. On top of that, he got 5 major touchdowns. With every other elite program, including Michigan and Colorado, suffering in the season, Griffin hinted that Texas has every chance to become national champions this year.

According to head coach Steve Sarkisian, Texas’s star quarterback Quinn Ewers suffered an oblique strain in Saturday’s 56-7 win over UTSA at Darrell K Royal-Memorial Stadium. Moreover, they have not disclosed the severity of the injury or the expected recovery time. Before his departure, Ewers helped with 14 out of 16 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns. After which Sarkisian decides to bring his young prodigy, the redshirt freshman Arch Manning, who took Ewers’ place. With that said, let’s see a bit about the details of today’s game.

Texas rocked with a memorable performance against UTSA, climbing to a 56-7 victory on their home turf. Arch Manning, who replaced Ewers in the first half, came out as a blessing for Texas. “We executed well, especially after Quinn went down. Arch stepped in and showed why he’s such a highly regarded player. The team rallied around him, and I’m proud of how we performed today,” said Sarkisian after winning the game. Right after hitting the field, he delivered two touchdowns, connecting with Isaiah Bond and Johntay Cook II.

Around the end of the first half, Texas took charge with four touchdowns, including a rushing touchdown by Manning, resulting in a 28-7 score till halftime. Added to that, the UTSA Roadrunners struggled to face Texas’ defense and only did a few first downs. Coming into the second half, Manning did another touchdown and ran for his next one. Toward the end of the fourth quarter, Texas managed a 56-7 win over UTSA.
