The Texas Longhorns seem healthy and ready for their opening CFB Playoff game against the Clemson Tigers this Saturday in Austin. However, the squad has been keeping a careful eye on one prominent player, though, who has injury concerns going into the game. He is none other than the standout WR Isaiah Bond. Thankfully for Texas, he appears to be making great strides and is getting closer to returning to the field. ” Bond is improving, which is great for us. He is showing great progress,” the head coach of Lonhorns, Steve Sarkisian, said. But hey, the fans see what really matters. And to prevent more harm, however, the Texas supporters implore Sark to sit Bond for the Clemson game.

Safe to say, when Texas lost to Georgia in the SEC title game earlier this month, the junior’s ankle condition got worse. As of now, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported today, Bond has very little chance of participating against the Tigers as he recovers from a severe ankle sprain. As per Thamel’s X post, “He may end up a game-time decision on Saturday, but has done limited football activity this week and has been focused on rehab work.” It just shows that Bond needs more time to properly recuperate and perform at his best.

Under these circumstances, Isaiah Bond could sustain more injuries and be unable to play the remainder of the game if Sark lets him play in the match against Clemson (10-3). To further their postseason hopes, Texas will need to make more sacrifices, if bond play. If you don’t know, Bond will need to become much better over the course of the next two days in order to be healthy enough to play against the Tigers. Which is just unfeasible.

Therefore, according to supporters, Longhorns’ head coach needs to make a smart choice and play against the Tigers without Bond. And they used social media to share their ideas and recommendations for Sark.

What’s your perspective on:

Is resting Bond the key to Texas's championship dreams, or a gamble they can't afford?

Have an interesting take?

With 33 receptions for 532 yards, Isaiah Bond ranks third among Texas’s linemen. This season, he has five touchdowns. Sark has a great deal of faith in the elite wide receiver because of his performance traits. However, he is unable to deny Bond’s severe injuries. He needs time to recover, and if Texas advances, he will be ready for the contest against Arizona State on January 1. “Sit him let him heal for ASU” was the statement made by a fan after this. Where “Rest him until semi-finals tbh” was said by another admirer.

If you’re unaware, analysts say Texas is the overwhelming favorite and will win 80.4% of the computer’s most recent contest forecasts. The presumptive winner in the remaining 19.6% of scenarios is Clemson. In light of this, a fan wrote, “Good. Sit him. No need to rush him back we can beat Clemson without him.

It’s safe to state that Texas would have more elite receivers like Ryan Wingo, Jordan Whittington, H. McMartin, and others if there were no Isaiah Bond. Wingo, who caught four catches for 70 yards versus Colorado State, is regarded as a five-star recruit for the class of 2024. “I‘ll take Wingo over anyone in the country. Rest Bond and roll with who you have healthy 🤘🏻” a fan wrote after Wingo’s performance.

As Longhorns supporters, we will undoubtedly be aware that if Texas advances past Clemson, they will have to play ASU. If they defeat ASU in the quarterfinals, they will then have to play either the top-seeded team or another highly ranked opponent, depending on the results of the playoff bracket in the semifinals. Following all of this, they must play the opponent in the Championship Game. Securing the remaining three games and guaranteeing success in those where a fan wrote, “Get Healthy #007 ! We are going to need you for the next 3 games! 🤞🏻🤘🏼🧡.

Let’s now see what the Longhorns’ head coach decides on Isaiah Bond. We believe that relaxing him might be the best course of action. What do you think?
