Is Texas A&M underestimating Auburn, setting themselves up for a shocking defeat this Saturday?

In the wake of an intense week 13, the Auburn Tigers will look to pull an upset to the No. 15 Texas A&M. Both teams will have their heads high heading to another rousing bowl contention this week as both Auburn and the Aggies picked up wins against respectively Louisiana-Monroe and New Mexico. The Tigers will treat this game as a springboard consolation to their swinging season. On the other hand, Texas A&M might give off an apparent vibe of being so busy gearing up for the lone state rivalry of November 30th that they aren’t quite bothered about the Tigers.

But this is a myth. Mike Elko’s Texas A&M is single-handedly focused on the task at hand, which is Auburn. But that doesn’t change the fact that the Tigers are still in a place to give Elko and his team an unexpected bad day. Everyone is beating the drum of the Aggies and calling it a potential lopsided clash. However, a win doesn’t always depend on how good a team has been the entire season, but on that given day.

Josh Pate sees, notes, and assimilates what the Auburn Tigers can bring to the table against the Aggies in the best-case scenario. ‘Their offense is also like really, really on the lowest of keys, but is not bad; the team’s not bad if like,’‘ Pate stopped and asked his co-host not to yell in between, realizing he’s been pretty delusional but he had a few valid pointers attached. ”I said if they don’t have the self-inflicted stuff, which they’ve had like every game but the thing. I always caution you about late in the year with these talented teams that are just bad; any given Saturday they can just not turn the ba-l over any given Saturday; they cannot have the self-inflicted wounds that’s not going to change the fact that they’ve been a bad team all year, but if plays Auburn on Saturday and Auburn doesn’t turn the ba-l over if they’re half decent inside the Red Zone, Auburn can beat them by double digits,” the veteran analyst said keeping Coach Elko and QB Marcel Reed on edge but only for them to be cautious.

Have an interesting take?

Auburn has, I’m looking at it right now, a top 25 talent roster, which is the difference between an untalented team that is, you know, four-six is just bad a talented team that’s four-to-six is bad; they’re not going to go to the playoff or anything but they can bite you and humiliate you on a given Saturday,” Pate broke down a complex yet intriguing good team-bad team reality in the college football world.

So, the game might not be a sure shot for the 2.5 favorite Aggies whatsoever. If the Tigers decide to switch to their beast mode this Saturday to hit a bowl game at least, Elko and his boys will be in serious trouble. Nobody will care how many games they won so far. An error at this point will simply kick them out of the playoff bubble. So, it’s high time for Elko to get their mind and legs right on the spot.

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum also issues a similar threat for the Aggies in a spoiler alert.

Paul Finebaum wakes up and smells the coffee for Texas A&M

Paul Finebam has always been a strong critic of the Auburn Tigers and didn’t ever hesitate to call them out in every nasty beatdown. But for the first time, he sees a golden opportunity for Auburn to play on. No, they can’t go far this season quite obviously, but that doesn’t mean they can’t play spoiler on another promising team like the Aggies’s playoff dream.

Finebaum justified his bombshell stance based upon Auburn finally shaping up to their best and the Aggies suffering on the road games again. Paul calls this weekend extremely dangerous for Elko and his team.

During his appearance on the McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning Show, the experienced analyst dismissed the Aggies’ extra hype, saying they are only a good team and not a great team that is immune to every immediate peril. They can’t possibly handle it if the Tigers decide to stage a decent comeback in their last two games against Texas A&M and Alabama Tide for no reason.
