Texas Longhorns fans are big on Steve Sarkisian, no doubt. And get this, Loreal Sarkisian, his wife, she’s got a whole fan base of her own too. The Longhorns First Lady does not thrive under the shadows of her hubby. Rather, she has created a life of her own, making some big contribution to the world of fashion. While Steve and Loreal are a celebrated couple, there came a time when their marriage had hit sour notes. But they are back together for good. Now, did Loreal shy away from addressing the struggles that came in their marital life? Not at all.

The Longhorns fans must be remembering July 2024 quite vividly. That month was a trip, with Steve and Loreal’s split hitting the news and their joint statement going viral online. “After many heartfelt conversations, we have decided to amicably part ways and jointly file for divorce.” It continued, “Our commitments to our respective careers made it difficult to prioritize time for each other and this step will provide us with the necessary time and space professionally while continuing to support each other personally.” With this, they assured everyone they’d remain best friends, and they did. Loreal even made game-day appearances and styled Sark on occasion. Now eight months later, she addresses the situation again.

The Longhorns First Lady has a social media fam of 136k followers. On March 1, she thought of engaging with her extended fam a little. So, on her IG story, she started a Q&A session and gave open access for fans to pour in their queries. The segment “Ask me anything!” had some interesting entries. One of the questions was, “What’s the hardest part about being a coach’s wife?” That’s when Loreal came up with a difficult confession.

She started with, “Having been a coach and athlete myself I totally get the demand of the job.” Yes, it’s true. Before dedicating herself to the world of fashion, Loreal used to play softball and run track. She continued, “Especially with him being a head coach. It doesn’t bother me. I am a very busy woman with my own brand and business so sometimes it has been difficult to navigate both since it’s all so demanding. But we do a good job at supporting one another so it works.” As Loreal’s IG bio states, she is a wardrobe stylist and philanthropist.

The world of fashion is demanding it itself. With it, the weight of Steve’s head coaching role had cast a long shadow. Loreal felt it, too. In a January interview with WFAA in Dallas, she hinted at a sense of confinement within her marriage. “It allowed me to pick up assistant jobs and internships. I just wanted to grow my love for it. Mind you, I’m still running, I’m still coaching. When I finally met Coach Sark, you know two coaches, that was going to be hard. But I never wanted to stop helping because that’s what coaching was also for me,” she revealed. Now, amidst carving out her own me time and career, she’s also racking up significant wins and, perhaps, some intriguing encounters.
