Yo, Steve Sarkisian, is low-key and plays chess while the rest of the college football world is stuck on checkers. The Longhorns have their sights set on a highly talented wide receiver in the transfer portal, but there’s a catch—the player is requesting a $2 million NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deal. Yes, you read that correctly. Texas has always valued speed, and this individual certainly possesses it. Will Sarkisian go all-in and offer a hefty sum, or will he opt for a more cautious approach? If he manages to secure this deal, it will undoubtedly have a profound impact on the game. However, one must consider whether the price tag is simply too steep.

Look, isn’t it obvious for Steve Sarkisian to look for possible replacements with Isaiah Bond and Matthew Golden, both allegedly moving to the NFL next year? So., it’s again the transfer portal for the rescue but with a high demand to live up to, and Texas insider Hank South highlights the same fact on Texas Sports Unfiltered, saying, “So, we’ll see what happens with this NIL stuff. Saying, you know, he’s one to two million asking price, or, you know, that’s what it’s going to take to get him. I don’t, I haven’t heard that, but you know, I think that’s probably, you know, probably standard, I guess, for his skill set. So, we’ll see what happens with Eric Singleton. Big-time player.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Sarkisian's $2M gamble on Singleton worth the risk, or is it a reckless move?

Have an interesting take?

Well, Georgia Tech’s star wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. is in the transfer portal and very much available, but the question is, is Steve Sarkisian ready to pay a price like that? Eric’s running abilities can do wonders for the team, and moreover, his track record speaks about his excellence. Singleton’s six touchdown receptions are ranked fourth nationally among the wide receivers from last season. And this year that dude had like eight catches and a touchdown against the Bulldogs, and that’s really insane.

Talking about his speed and agility, Insider also sheds light on Eric’s speed, which can do wonders for the team and take them to new heights. “You know, this is a guy that runs track for Georgia Tech as well. He ran a 10.32 in the 100; this past spring he ran like a 6.68 or something really fast in the 60-yard. He had a really good time in the 200-meter; like, this kid can fly.”

If Steve Sarkisian lets go of a player like him, it will be one of the biggest mistakes of his career. Moreover, Eric Singleton has already visited the campus, and it’s time for coach Sarkisian to act because the list to get in his commitment is pretty long. We have Auburn, LSU, and Miami eyeing him, and their biggest threat is the Ole Miss Rebels for sure. But Steve Sarkisian also has a long list of concerns coming his way.

Concerns rising over Steve Sarkisian’s playoff hopes

Texas Longhorns quarterback misery is not a new story for college football fans. With Quinn Ewers’s constant struggles to maintain a consistent game, he has kept the team on the verge of breaking. First, he was out because of injury, then Arch Manning took the lead, and from the moment Ewers was back on the field, the constant comparison and fans’ urge to give Manning more stance on the field made it even worse for him. But it was Steve Sarkisian who held it off so far and showed his trust in him, but now it might cost him his dream, and that is the playoffs.

The turning point of Quinn Ewers’ fate this season was his poor gameplay against the Bulldogs. The team held a solid chance to win with a 6-3 lead, but Ewers’s sloppy game, interception issues, and lack of big plays made it impossible for the team. And more than Ewers, it’s on Steve Sarkisian, who didn’t learn his lesson, but now the question is should he again take this risk? CFB World doesn’t think so. A few days back, Pat Forde from Yahoo Sports gave them a pretty harsh reality check talking about Ewers’s inconsistency.

“I think it is a big stage for Quinn Ewers, who sometimes plays very well and sometimes makes major mistakes. His QB rating for the last four games hadn’t been very good. You know, since they lit up Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky, Texas A&M, and Georgia were in disarray. He’s just kind of been, you know, he makes some really nice throws, and then he makes some bad throws and interceptions, a fumble, whatever.” Inconsistency has taken over some big moments for the team, and now if they lose against Clemson, it’s going to be even worse than it is now.

However, there are speculations that Quinn Ewers is planning for the 2025 NFL draft, and this might not return to the team. Also, the team doesn’t seem to care much, even though they gave him a $4M offer to be back. That’s some peak-level diplomacy. But for now, Ewers is here for the playoffs, and let’s wait and see what Steve Sarkisian’s final take in the game will be.
