The Oklahoma Sooners hit the jackpot on August 21, 2024, as they received a commitment from five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi. Fasusi’s 6-foot-6 and 310-pounder gifted physique and athletic skills have been drowning attention from recruiters for a few months now. He got offers from elite programs such as the Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M, and Oregon Ducks. However, he chose the Sooner above all these teams back in August. However, as with the games of this sport, the commitments of the players are also unpredictable. Now a rumor about his flip has created a buzz in the college football world.
However, it’s still not confirmed from Fasusi’s side what will be his next destination. Though rumours had been suggesting he might end up joining the Texas Longhorns and Steve Sarkisian’s boys, the latest revelation has put an end to that speculation. On the November 12th episode of the ‘Orengebloods’ show, Jason Suchomel, the writer highlighted that Texas A&M can come between Steve Sarkisian’s dreams to land a commitment from Michael Fasusi.
“Every mounting loss from Oklahoma probably increases the chances a little bit, but every time I talk to Fasusi, he’s still very happy with that Oklahoma commitment despite what’s going on the field.” Although Jason talked about Fasusi’s decision to flip, it remains unclear if Steve Sarkisian would be a benefactor.

Recalling his one-to-one chat with Fasusi, Jason chimed in “Don’t discount Texas A&M. If he sees an easier path to playing time, NIL dollars are similar between the two. When Michael Fasusi was about to commit, I reached out to him the day before, and I said, ‘Hey Mike, I’m going to come cover your announcement if it’s Texas. If it’s not, I don’t want to be on the road six hours round trip to watch you commit to Oklahoma or A&M.’ And he said to me, ‘It’s going to be Oklahoma or A&M.’”
So what does that indicate? Despite Texas continuing to land commitments from Fasusi, Analyst Jason had doubts about assuming a flip to A&M. Texas still holds strong competition from Texas A&M for the elite recruit. With that, let’s learn what Steve Sarkisian might lose if Michael Fasusi commits to Texas A&M.
