Does Loreal's support for Steve Sarkisian make her the ultimate First Lady of Texas Football?

Divorce or no divorce, Loreal Sarkisian has shown that she’s the one and only true First Lady of Texas Football. Her support for her ex-husband Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns never wavered despite their split and her hectic fashion schedule. She’d been running all over the place lately with the Paris Fashion Week and her collaboration with Balmain. Then Usher came to town in Austin and just three days later, it’s her birthday! And guess who gave her the best birthday present?

Loreal Sarkisian received lots of love on her birthday on October 12. But for her, Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns delivered her the biggest present she could wish for. In a new IG story, she posted a video of Steve Sarkisian proudly wearing the Golden Hat Trophy after winning the Red River Rivalry. She captioned the story, “The Best Birthday Gift @steve.sarkisian 🤘🏽”

Texas delivered beautifully as they defeated No. 18 Oklahoma in a severe 34-3 blow. But it also healed the wound of Texas from their past falls to the Sooners. When Steve Sarkisian joined Texas in 2021, he lost the Red River Rivalry game to the Sooners. They made a comeback in 2022 which Oklahoma succeeded with a 34-30 victory over the Longhorns last season.

Loreal, who had been married to Sarkisian for four years, has been a crucial part of the Texas football program. The dynamics between them is that while Steve Sarkisian attracts on the field, Loreal is an off-field attraction with her unique sense of fashion which has a lasting impression on the Texas HC. But this win is a genuine celebration as the Longhorns take the lead again with their dominance.

The Texas Longhorns aren’t slowing down

One thing we learned from the Red River Rivalry game is that Texas is a verified National Championship contender. Right from their victory over National Champion Michigan in Week 2, the national championship contender talk already began for Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorns. And now, four games later, they’re still undefeated as they improve their record to 6-0.

Have an interesting take?

There will be a change in the AP Poll ranking soon, but it’s unlikely that Texas will budge from the No. 1 spot that they’re enjoying. The Longhorns aren’t just about winning anymore, their games as we’ve seen so far this season are all about dominance. The most points they lost is just 13 in their 35-13 win against Mississippi State in Week 5. As of Week 6, their win-loss record stands at an impressive 259-38. But it’s the next game against Kirby Smart and No. 5 Georgia which is going to be the real SEC battle.
