Man, Sark, you jinxed your top spot on the CFP the moment you said you’d want to face off against Georgia again. The longstanding argument against Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns is that they have won zero games against good opponents. They did run into the SEC with hopes of snatching the conference title, but oh well. Georgia not only managed to win that title game, but they did it with the help of a backup quarterback. Adding insult to injury, Steve Sarkisian and his boys marked their 2nd loss to Kirby Smart and Co. in a single college football season run. This had to be the wildest arc in recent times, but hold on, the Bulldogs might’ve just handed Sarkisian the golden ticket.

Back on X, we got the update from Inside Texas that the Longhorns have been dropped down to the 5th spot on the CFP rankings. They had the 2nd seed previously and now they are down by 3 spots. Okay, at first glance, this might look bad, but statistically speaking, the 5th seed has a much better pairing compared to the 2nd seed. Now this is a blessing in disguise for the Longhorns and Sarkisian.

Folks, the final rankings are out, and Texas is going against Clemson. Do you have any idea how easy this game is gonna be for the Longhorns? Clemson is what? 10-3 this year? With a SOS of 53. While they did manage to win their ACC crown, it is nearly not good enough to deal with Texas.

Let’s be real. While Sarkisian did lose to Georgia again, this SEC title game had to be one of the most nail-biting games in recent memory. Yeah, the Dawgs could’ve done much better if there weren’t that many catch drops, but somehow the Longhorns’ defense managed to hold back Smart to 3 points in the entire first half.

The moment they put Gunner Stockton on the turf after Beck was pulled off because of the injury, the Dawgs finally gained some momentum. The 3rd quarter was a turning point and once again proved that Kirby Smart, somehow, always manages to pull up with a W in the 2nd half. But, hey, let’s focus on the good that’s gonna come for Sark.

The Longhorns vs an average Clemson team

Hey, no shade, but we all know that Sark has this in the bag. See, Clemson had a massive start against SMU. They managed to lead the game with 24 points on the board. Going into the 2nd half, it kind of felt like the Mustangs were going to get blown out.

But guess what? Somehow, these guys managed to switch things up and tie the score with the Tigers in the 4th quarter. If it wasn’t for Nolan Hauser‘s miracle 56-yard field goal, then this game was destined to go into overtime. But then again, you have to keep in mind that SMU had built that 11-1 season over a schedule that is ranked 75 in the entire country.

Longhorns, on the other hand, have faced Georgia twice. This alone outweighs Clemson’s entire season run, and you cannot sit there and say that the Tigers have a chance. Remember, we are talking about a team that managed to dismantle the Bulldogs offense with ease. They just weren’t prepared for Stockton and his run game. Things are getting spicy, and if we are lucky, then we gonna end up watching ANOTHER Georgia vs Texas game.
