Is Steve Sarkisian the new king of college football after that brutal win over Michigan?

They’ll be a good team and a great program and Sark will do a great job.” Now, see, that’s a shout-out not every HC gets. When legend Nick Saban says that a team is great, you have to take his word for it. The Longhorns dominated against the defending champs today. Wiping the floor with a solid 31-12 win against 2023 champions Michigan Wolverines, and it is all thanks to HC Steve Sarkisian. Sarkisian put in the work, and so did his boys.

So, for now, he has all the bragging rights. An X user posted an interesting update on September 8th, “Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian said “This is who we are. This is how we know how to play.”” Last week’s win over the Rams should’ve been enough evidence that Sarkisian is coming for the neck. With a massive 52-0 win over Colorado State, Sarkisian had proved that his team, this season, is going to dominate. We saw how beautifully the offense carried the momentum and allowed Ewers to land his plays. The entire chemistry on the field was amazing. And the same happened against the Wolverines as well. QB Quinn Ewers locked in, getting 3 TDs for Texas and rushing over 200 yards. The O-line didn’t allow the Wolverines to move an inch. You gotta keep in mind that Michigan is the same team that had a 15-0 run last year.

So, to be able to sit back, and snatch that crown away and become their first defeat since last year is a major deal, and Sarkisian can brag about it all he wants. Harry Douglas had mentioned back on ESPN Get Up that Sarkisian probably has the most pressure on him as compared to any other HC. “The expectation for him is to have the ability to win a National Championship and they have a roster to do so,” Doughlas had noted and Sarkisian managed to make the Longhorns fans proud. The fact that Nick Saban himself had mentored and sculpted Sarkisian was quite visible today. However, could there be someone who can end Sarkisian’s run prematurely?

Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns’ biggest test

It’s the second game for Kirby Smart and Georgia Bulldogs and that team is dominating and has no plans to stop. Starting the season opener against Clemson and grabbing a 34-3 win. The Dawgs are currently going up against TN Tech and it is the 4th quarter of the game. QB Carson Beck has landed 5 TDs and covered 242 yards and the Bulldogs are in a lead with 48-3.

Now you might wonder why we are even talking about this in the first place. Well, Sarkisian ain’t the only one who grew up learning from Nick Saban. Kirby Smart is also gunning for the “Next Nick Saban” title and you know he ain’t gonna make it easy for the Longhorns. Both teams are set to clash on 19th October and only the best shall come out unscathed. Bulldogs have its Heisman contender, Carson Beck and the Longhorns have its mullet madness, Quinn Ewers. Now, only time will tell which of Saban’s disciples is the best.
