Michigan hype train—are they the real deal or heading for a spectacular fall like Notre Dame?

Every CFB fan was holding their breath for Saturday’s iconic game between Michigan and Texas. Towards the climax, the stadium gradually turned from maize to Texas’ burnt orange color after their 31-12 win over the Michigan Wolverines. However, we cannot undermine the fact that these games are highly unpredictable, and it took only one game to take down national champions. The same goes for the Texas Longhorns, and head coach Steve Sarkisian is making them learn the exact thing. After all, he does not want his boys to “look like these guys,” said a journalist while pointing at Michigan’s picture from their last match.

Anne-Parker Coleman, a sports journalist, covered a story from the Texas head coach’s recent media appearance, where he talked about his team and their upcoming game against UTSA. “I walked them through the Notre Dame scenario, of them going into college station a week ago and winning that game and being anointed top-five team and in the college football playoff, and a week later, losing to Northern Illinois.” We agree with what Sarkisian had to say here.

After all, Notre Dame’s defeat was historical, and no one in their darkest dreams had ever predicted to witness such a thing. I mean, NIU was said to be just the amateurs in front of one of the greatest teams of CFB. Nevertheless, they stood their ground and turned the tables. Sarkisian is not wrong if he’s worrying about that kind of possibility for Texas in their next face-off against UTSA.

Moving further in his speech, Sarkisian mentioned how he prepared his team for their next adventure in the 2024 season by saying, “So I showed that clip of the northern Illinois storm in the field this morning.” Claps for Sarkisian, first of all, because he’s not riding high and bragging about being no. 2 in the AP poll. Rather, he’s focused on maintaining that status and preparing for the next game.

Steve Sarkisian on the Texas vs. UTSA game

Sarkisian is leading Texas to the game over UTSA with a 2-0 start in the season, and their opponents are bringing in their 1-1 record. And both the teams are gearing up at full speed for this one. “I want to make it 60 minutes of hell for our opponents,” said Sarkisian, who’s all set to take on their third win for the season. However, the last time these two teams faced each other, Texas led a massive win(41-20). but according to UTSA coach Jeff Traylor, this time, their team is in “transition.”

Well, it’s an important game for Texas and the Roadrunner, and we’ll see who calls the shots on Saturday. Besides that, if we look at the AP polls, Texas is among the top three contenders, placed between first-ranked Georgia and third-ranked Ohio State, and their upcoming game will decide their future rankings.
