You can hate him or love him, but you can’t ignore Deion Sanders in the world of college football. The “bully” controversy has escalated to another level, leaving everyone confused about what could be the outcome of it. Even though everyone had mixed reactions to the whole situation, Stephen A. Smith’s opposition to Coach Prime’s actions came out as a shocker.
It’s Deion Sanders against the whole world. One thing led to another starting with the bully take on Sean Keeler, banning him from any further reporting now Coach Prime is taking shots at Paul Finebaum. Deion called Paul a “Dying Breed”. Even Finebaum didn’t hesitate to give it back to him, teaching him how to respect media personalities, but it seems no one is on team Prime this time, even his close friend and famous media personality Stephen A Smith is not supporting him this time. Today during a panel discussion on ESPN’ YouTube channel he supported Paul saying “Sanders was talking about the same Paul Finebaum that has praised him on many occasions talking about the attention that he brought to college football and how much it was needed, the scarcity of Black coaches in the history of college football” Paul has always tried and appreciated Deion.

Well, that’s true. Last year, Paul did mention how Deion came and elevated the profile of African Americans and their future sport of college football. Stephen was not satisfied with Deion’s take on Sean Keeler’s incident as well a few days back after the controversy took place, Smith made remarks on Coach Prime saying “If you don’t want to talk to the reporter then don’t talk”. Even fans were not happy with the way he handled the whole situation. A fan on Reddit posted a harsh comment on Coach Prime saying “Deion Sanders talks a lot about the character but his bully tactics show very little of it”. The whole situation was already twisted, but calling Paul a “dying breed” is something even Smith couldn’t digest easily.

Deion Sanders’s response towards feud with Paul Finebaum
Despite the upcoming season, the attention remains on the controversy surrounding Deion Sanders, now shifted to Paul Finebaum over his criticism of Sanders on calling him a “disgrace”. In response, Deion said in a recent interview, “He talking ’bout us. How can we be irrelevant and you talking about me? Every time I turn around, somebody’s sending me a quote that you talkin’ ’bout me.” Seems justified though, but it’s not the first time Coach Prime has reacted a certain way with a reporter or media personality.
Similarly, in 2021, when Coach Prime was at Jackson State University as a coach, Rashad Milligan from the Mississippi Clarion Ledger was banned from covering the football team during the Southwestern Athletic Conference Media Day. He wrote an article describing allegations of domestic violence against WR Quaydarius Davis, one of the top recruits. In Birmingham, Alabama, two officials from Jackson State physically blocked Milligan from approaching the team, escalating the situation. Sanders was not willing to let Milligan speak with his players and coaches.

It seems banning reporters is kind of a Deion Sanders thing, but moving forward winning and qualifying for the playoffs should also become his and the Colorado Buffs thing.
