Deion Sanders: Visionary coach or a snowflake crybaby? Let's hear your thoughts!

And here we thought Deion Sanders would wanna keep out of the controversy. It’s kind of weird at this point. Almost every 2 weeks, we find Coach Prime dealing with a new drama. As the Buffs get ready to face off against the Knights, the entire atmosphere has been quite tense. However, after what the boys managed to pull in their last 2 games, Deion Sanders has seen a noticeable hike in the overall recruitment for the Buffs.

This could be the biggest recruitment weekend for the Buffs. However, something dumb just had to happen. The Colorado Buffs Football account on X decided it would be fun to tweet out a photoshopped image of palm trees and the swamp with a Knight’s helmet and sword floating at the bottom. While this looks like a fun banter or something, the Florida fans were NOT happy. “Wouldn’t expect a snowflake crybaby in Colorado to understand,” one fan was quick to point out.

Now, if you didn’t know, there has been a massive uproar of people living around Florida. Because of the hurricane, many palm trees were destroyed. And Colorado making a joke about it does not help the case. You also gotta keep in mind that a lot of the boys on the Buffs roster are from Florida, so it could end up being insensitive to them in some way.

And another thing to keep in mind is that a move like this could hamper Deion’s recruitment dreams. Just a few hours back on the Zero 2 Sixty show, CU Alum Matt McChesney noted that the UCF game would allow Deion to grab multiple new players onto the team. After the Rams and the Baylor game, we already saw a massive spike in Buffs recruitment. With 3 top players looking to flip already, Deion cannot ruin his chances with Florida.

That ain’t all. UCF is going to push the Buffs to the edge. The Knights have one of the best rush-run games in the entire CFB. Deion and his offensive line could see major competition. While we do know that the defense which was revamped by Robert Livingstone is going reasonably better than compared to the 2023 season Buffs. We are still yet to see how they tackle a run-heavy team. But as we wait for that to happen, let’s see what the fans had to say about the entire thing that unfolded on X.

Overreacting or insensitive joke

“Deleting the tweet gets you no where. Post an apology,” was the first thing a fan mentioned on X. After the instant backlash, the Buffs’ official account deleted that photoshopped image and decided to post a different picture of Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter with the caption “Sunshine State”. However, there has been no apology from Buffs’ end. So, naturally, another fan decided to reply to the original post with an edited picture of a garbage bag with the Colorado Buffs logo.

Another fan mentioned, “😭😭 admin needs to get fired”. While the chances of this happening are quite low, getting fired over a joke is a low blow. Finally, a fan noted, “OMG is that a palm tree? Those are actively being DESTROYED in Florida due to the hurricane. Delete this. How insensitive !!!” Hurricane Helena is flowing across the Southeast and has already claimed around 44 lives. If that wasn’t enough, the entire coast was also destroyed, along with multiple trees and landscapes. As we pray for the people stuck in Helena, let’s hope the Buffs issue an apology sometime soon.
