Boy, oh boy, things are getting bad at CU. Sounds insensitive, but the game against the Huskers managed to strike down 2 birds with 1 stone. Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime, once again failed to learn from the game against NDSU and forgot to make changes in the O-line. This in return cost Coach Prime and the Buffs a disgusting 28-10 loss and Shedeur Sanders went on to get sacked 5 times. Now, if that wasn’t enough, we also found that during the first half of the game, Safety Shilo Sanders sustained an injury to his forearm. Huskers RB Dante Dowdell was locked in with a 13-yard touchdown run when he clashed with Shilo. Deion is going to lose solid support from his roster.

On September 9th, Deion Sanders took to X to share some pictures of him and Shilo from the hospital after the Safety went through surgery. “God is Good! Can’t wait to see u back ready to go. Love ya son!” Deion noted in the caption of his post. Unfortunately, Deion ain’t gonna see Shilo come back anytime soon. Time and time again, research has proven that forearm fractures can shake up the career of any CFB or NFL athlete. MD, Joshua D. Harris noted, “Forearm fractures can be career-threatening injuries for professional athletes.” Harris undertook research with 33 NFL players. The results showed that these players who went through ORIF surgery because of forearm fractures returned to their sport after 152.1 days. This straight-up means Shilo is going to completely miss this entire season.

This is a big blow to the entire roster and Deion Sanders’ dreams of redeeming the team after the 2023 season disaster. Shilo out of the game means Deion would be losing out on his safety and from what we saw during the NDSU game, Shilo was doing solid. He had locked in 9 tackles and got a defensive grade of 71.8. If all of this drama wasn’t enough, Paul Finebaum is back for revenge, and this time around, Deion Sanders cannot do anything about it.

The beginning of the end for Deion Sanders?

If you give him the chance, then Finebaum is gonna come for that neck. We have seen multiple times that Finebaum loves bashing the Buffs and whatever Coach Prime does so after the Huskers disaster; we braced our seats and waited for Finebaum to unleash his wrath. “Deion Sanders is all Hollywood. He’s all show,” Finebaum noted on ESPN College Football. For this one time, we gotta agree with the man.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Coach Prime's legacy at risk with Shilo Sanders' injury? How will Colorado cope?

Have an interesting take?

The Bison’s game brought forward the main issues that existed in the O-line. All Deion had to do was fix that and maybe follow a more closed offensive line playstyle. But nope, he did not do anything. This allowed Nebraska to freely exploit the issues with the offense and kept Shedeur at bay. This does not paint a good picture for the team and the rest of their schedule. Now that Deion has lost his safety as well, the 2024 season can go even worse than the 2023 season. Let’s see what Coach Prime comes up with when they go up against the Rams on September 15th.
