All everyone can talk about right now in the draft is Shedeur Sanders. Nobody is making much talk about the top picks, including that of fellow Colorado WR Travis Hunter. Shedeur just has one day of the draft remaining for his pro hopes. However, has anyone really stopped and thought, ‘If this is what Shedeur is going through in the draft, what will happen to Shilo?’ Surprisingly, even having an NFL veteran of the likes of Deion Sanders as their dad wasn’t much help to them. Shilo, now, is forced to move on from Coach Prime’s handling of his career.

Shedeur was touted to be a Round 1 pick initially. Then, the predictions slipped to Rounds 2 and 3. Now? No one knows who’s going to pick him. Shilo, on the other hand, was looking to be a tailender pick anyway. This is all despite living under the shadow of dad Deion Sanders‘ glory and fame. Those pulling the nepotism cards are probably happy with how the brothers’ draft is turning out to be. Because even with Coach Prime taking responsibility for his sons’ pro careers, both of them are close to ending the draft without anyone picking them. It’s a sorry feat to achieve because Hunter had an opposite turn of events. But Shilo is still able to make light of this situation, even as experts predict he will go undrafted.

Funnily enough, the elder Sanders thinks their father failed their hopes. He joked on his livestream, “Dad was our agent, but that hasn’t been working out too good. So today, I had to sign with an agent.” Shedeur, seated next to him, also joined in with a laugh. Neither brother booked agents to represent them at the Combine, to which Shilo even missed an invite. They relied heavily on Coach Prime for that role. Shedeur looked to be the sibling who was poised for the more prominent role among the two. But now, it looks like the two brothers aren’t as far apart when it comes to their draft hopes.

Shilo Sanders is now expected to go undrafted but is still in high demand as a free agent. Shedeur, however, is teetering on the edge of this possibility. Sometimes, the family name doesn’t always guarantee the expected results, as we’re seeing with the Sanders brothers. Shilo not only had his dad to rely on but could also look to ride along on the fame that Shedeur had amassed for himself. However, Shilo has amusedly resigned from those hopes as well.

Shilo Sanders also has no hope after how his brother’s draft turned out

The whole Sanders family is gathered in Texas, where both brothers closely observe the draft from home. But right from Night one, an air of uneasiness settled among the Sanders. Shilo, however, seemed to have figured out how the draft was going to turn out for him from then on. He told Shedeur, “If they making him wait — oh buddy, I don’t even know what they going to do with me.” As the family deals with this troubling time, it seems like the elder Sanders has taken on the role of providing comic relief. That too at his own expense.

Shilo missing out on a Combine invite was a telltale sign of how his draft was going to proceed. But he still put in whatever was required from his end. Shilo gave it his all to charm scouts and recruiters at Colorado’s pro day, where he ran his much-touted 40-yard dash. He clocked in an impressive 4.52, which just missed the mark that Deion Sanders had set as a challenge for him.

The elder Sanders is still high on the potential he holds for NFL teams. Yahoo Sports still thinks he is the “biggest steal” of the draft. He ranks 4th in turnovers created by safeties and allowed only 589 total yards. Shilo might not have a great 2024 season, but his career, on the whole, still has a lot of value for teams looking to make some important selections in free agency. How will Shilo Sanders truly fare in the rest of his time at the draft?
